Electronic guru's i need help ASAP!!

ok, im finally makin a move and ordering my aftermarket navigation system. i called a local electronic shop and went through ordering a system. i assumed that the new pioneer avic - n-100 was gonna be the top of the line. thats the new all in one unit coming out next month. the guy told me the only thing bad about the new pioneer is that you have to put the map disc in everytime you want to use the navigation. he said he had the pioneer 910 and said its all seperate components and its better. what is the best aftermarket navi available? please help quick.... i need to order this now

If you're sticking with Pioneer. Go with the 910 and 6600 LCD or 7500 LCD.

The avic-n1 isn't really top of the line. It's more of an "affordable" all-in-one package. Plus, there is no tv tuner included and the screen is only 6.5".

The only downside is that the 910 and 6600 or 7500 LCD combo will definitely be more expensive.

i dont need to stick with pioneer. i just want a good system. i know the 910 is about $600-$700 more then the avic-n1.... im willing ot put it out as long as its worth it. ill go alpine, it doesn't matter. would you recommend it over pioneer? the only thing i would like it to have is touch screen. i didn't see any alpine's with touch screen. i guess it doesnt really matter, just a prefrence. thanks for the help....

This is the way I see it when it comes to Pioneer vs Alpine...

User-friendliness...P > A (I think Alpine products have a steep learning curve to them)

Bang for the buck...P > A(Pioneer comes with more standard features)

LCD picture quality...A > P(a lot more pixels in an Alpine LCD)

Looks...P > A(Pioneer looks a lot better than A IMO...Alpine decks aren't that great looking...too cluttered)

Sound Quality...A > P(Alpine definitely has better sq, but the average user will not be able to tell the difference)

etc.

It all depends on what you really want and need. I'm more of a Pioneer fan so I only know the basics of Alpine products. I used to know quite a bit about Alpine, but I switched over to Pioneer when everybody and their grandma started buying Alpine. Now, the same can be said of Pioneer. I think the next way to go would be Eclipse.

Hi,

Can somebody help me regarding Pioneer Avic D3???

I had it installed last week in my 2001 CL-S. There seems to be a humming noice on the speakers. The installer said I need to change all my four speakers to get rid of the humming noice. They by passed the bose amp when they installed the D3. I thought this would get rid of the noise...????

Can anybody advice me on this? Did the installer do something wrong or maybe he got lazy and did not do the by pass? Do I need to change all four speakers???

HELP.

Thanks

Thinner, post the above question here:

All our "experts" are on the offtopic Audio/Video forum... Since you're asking about a unit that could be installed in any acura (tl, cl, tsx), we have a forum dedicated to all acura audio/video questions...
