edged off a wrx

i can telll he wanted to run from the way he was pacing down the free way

me and the wrx approach a light, were rolling into the light but he was about 2 car lenghts ahead of me and before we could stop the light turns green, we both go wot and by the end of 2nd i close the gap and get on his back bumper, 3rd comes and i have to switch lanes cause of a car ahead of me, towards the end of 3rd at over 100 i slowly but surley pulling away and we shut it down and like 120

was a pretty sweet race, i dont even know how much hp those things got, i know if woulda went from a dig he woulda got me off the line but he had a 2 car lenght head start to begin with, i had an extra passenger and had to switch lanes but i still ended up pulling on him

any one else runs these cars before

good kill. From a roll, our cars can really surprise people sometimes. I took down a stock looking mustang GT they other night. I think he was shocked how a v6 took down his v8.

Very low 14s, high 13s stock. But that's from a dig. Rolling, they're very vunerable. Not surprised you got em'.

we he had a 2 car length head start from the roll, so even if we went from a dig i woulda realed him in in 2nd or 3rd gear

They normally run low to mid 14's stock. Doesn't surprise me you took him. CL's have the death third gear. The only CL I raced killed me.

High 13's stock???are u sure...I thought they ran like mid 14's stock. I've taken out plenty wrx's and most of them had the usual intake/exhaust combo and two of them were from a dead stop where they did jump on me but at the end of third I was like 3 cars ahead of them.

Man, I've never seen any forum for any car claim more kills on WRX's than you guys do. I'm not calling BS but is there a CL owner on here that has ever lost to one? I have personally seen 2 stock WRX's run consistent 14.20's all night long so if you're killing them from a stop you've either got a freak CL (automatics, I know the 6-speeds are plenty capable) or are running shitty WRX drivers.

I've had a stock WRX give my modded GTP a tight race, though I barely won. And I spanked the same car with my Maxima from a roll, so the races from speed are not surprising.

It seems most are from a roll. The trap speeds of most WRX seem kind of low ....That is a good indication of who would win from a rolling start. Motor Trend got a 14.1 but only at 96mph.(just an example)

i have lost to one, though i would have won from if he wouldnt give up after 65. he launched at about 3k rpms, all i know is he had gauges mounted on the pillar, i dont remember anything else about the car. he had me by 2 cars from stop, then less than half a car by the end of second. i have i/h/p also, plus my launch was cracked.

i dont see why not from a roll, usually i doubt stories to about the WRX, but the way this one is explained, i would say he at least caught up by the end of 3rd.

I raced from a roll. I know better than to tangle with a WRX from a stop.

almost every race on the street is from a roll. It's not that often where u get lined up on a perfect light along someone willing to race w/ no cops around and shit. Thats why u hear so many wrx kills. And not to brag or anything but the CL-S w/ any trans IS faster than a wrx off a roll. Even a slightly modded wrx. The STI runs the 0-60 in like 4.5 seconds or so right...but look at the street start at 5-60mph. It's like a full second slower because they loose their awd advantage.

btw, i just briefly ran a wrx after running a g35c6sp. as soon as he downshifted and hit the gas, i waited for about a half second and punched it completely in 2rd (was right at vtec about 4500 rpm). as the race was fully on, he started with a nose ahead of me, and i put my nose out in the end.
and this was a modded wrx with light rims, springs, exhaust, and a blow off valve from what i can tell. so if it is stock, you should take him from a roll! from a stop, driver ability will probably determine the outcome.

Yes, you can get them in auto. Not very many people do, though. The drivetrain is a little different in them and not just the tranny obviously.

Nice kill on the wrx! From what I have seen the cl-s should be able to win against a regular wrx hands down...as for the StI that would be a race where driver ability would come into play. I think the cl-s is one of the few cars I havent had the luxury of running with, but as the weather warms up who knows what will happen.

Dude, you are CLUELESS!! Those two statements just might be the most ignorant statements I have EVER seen posted ANYWHERE in my almost 10 years of forum browsing.

A high14/low-15 car (the CLs) should be able to beat a low-mid 14 car (regular WRX) HANDS DOWN???? WTF? You wanna think again before you type? Probably not, because then you follow it up with it's going to take a capable driver of an STi to beat a CLs!! A 300hp low-mid 13 car could probably miss a gear and still win.

Think first, type second.

stock, the wrx's top end does drop off dramatically, but with turbo back, up/down pipe that thing pulls like a mofo to 7500 or wherever cutoff is. throw on a tuned utec and you got a sti hunter. sounds like this guy was stock.

ps. right now the fastest wrx that runs 9's i believe (easy street tuning or something), has the dogbox-auto-

F-off, you will be classified as clueless until you can prove otherwise, and that's going to be hard to do. Any other cars that you think are a 'drivers-skill race' with the CLs (besides the STi, we already know your well-informed thoughts on that one)? Lets see, how about LS1's? 03 Cobras? E55 Benz? M5? Those are all drivers races for the mighty CL huh? Hey retard, stick to ClubSi with posts like that, you'll have a better chance of passing off your BS with people that dont know any better. On here you're going to find people that know a bit about cars and aren't afraid to call out idiotic posts like yours.

And that's nice that you can show maxipads your hazards, I could care less who you show what. The only way I'll see them is if you have them on while you're broken down on the side of the road waiting for AAA......and that's all that matters to me.

Now go ahead and grace us with more of your automotive wisdom, I'm up for a few good laughs today!!

Here's a view you'd have to get used to if you lived near me......

STi would run away and hide from a CL-S, it would do that to most cars out there. Its a little rocket.
