ecu flashing
ecu flashing
does anyone know of a place on long island that does ecu flashing....i will send it out if i have to, but I rather not. I am hoping it will solve my launching problems by actually letting me redline. I would appericate any info you guys have including if its safe or not? and is it worth it? also are those vtec controllers good for anything??? thanks
its bogs down from the line, plus it only redlines at 6200 rpm...need to get it closer to red line i think thats one of many problems on the track.. i also have a thread with my launching problems hopefully this will solve it...

CL and not CLS (yes/no?)
I don't think you can have the ECU flashed. If you find someone that can *prove* they can do it, let me know. So far the people at Hondata and some factory notes have said the chip can NOT be flashed. AT one time a member got "JET Performance Products" to "modify" his ECU. However, when I asked for a dyno of the before/after performance sheet I was told "existed somewhere", I never got it -- ever! The other details were even sketchier...
2. I assume you're talking about the CL and not the CLS and the different redlines. (yes/no?)

its kinda hard to explain, but its like the motor like almost shuts it self off from the line when you try certain things like power brake.it basically dosent go any where their is a delay ... iam pretty sure thats what it is.
OK vin...e-manage is like a piggy back computer that u would need to wire into ur factory ecu and then adjust it. You plug it into ur home computer and make all the adjustments and then check it in ur car. This would involve cutting into ur factory wires which I know u don't want to do. Plus I don't think u can advance timing w/ it which is where most of ur power is being lost so forget that.
As for hondata...I asked Ryan that I work w/...he said hondata is located in California...you can take your car to somewhere here in LI but all they would do is ship ur ECU to cali and have them do it there. that's their way of securing that no one staels their programs and copy's it. So ur better off waiting for the uni-chip w/ a plug and play harness which means it just plugs in. Start a thread on the TL site and ask members who live in Oregon to take a trip there and see whats going on and what they can do. They would most likely be willing to do this and then u can start a group buy on the TL site. Unless u want to ship out ur ecu and keys and immobilizer unit to hondata and be w/o a car for approx 1 week.
Does that answer ur questions vindog...I would have just explained it to u in person tommorow at the gym but ur an annoying fool..

I think that Flash for the Tl is a factory thing. I fixes the malfunction indicator coming on after having the engine going above 4500 for and extended period of time. I may be wrong, I had this done on my car
