I told you that they Looked fake, I was able to tell just by looking at them.
Did he put them in a OBX box at least when he shipped it to you?
I was gonna buy the SS OBX ones on Ebay they are stamped but now I might just wait!
I think its the same seller so I will deffinatly wait!

 

I posted Pics and EVERYTHING when he started that thread about a great price on headers. They LOOK EXACTLY like the $45 headers other sellers are selling for $45.. I EVEN posted pics and warned him that they were not stamped and OBX did not make ceramic headers and everything.

If it sounds to good to be true its NOT TRUE!!!

 

not to sound like a bastard but for me i would either get the Comptech's or just keep the OEM headers. if you have the skills/tools to change the headers yourself, only then would i experiment with other headers

 

CT's are great.....but in my experience, I see nothing wrong with XS/SS Autochrome. Just to be on the safe side, I purchased 2 pair last year, and my original pair has not one defect to date, and drive her hard as hell. And I put my own labor into install's.

Oh well, fuck it i'll sell them for to someone who just wants headers and then save up a couple months and get comptechs.

Headers are easy to install.

headers came in an OBX box with OBX gaskets, with OBX instuctions, and OBX bolts.... WHATA FUCKER

But the way I know you guys were all RIGHT is cause the instructions say Stainless.... and nothing about ceramic headers...

And I am no engineer (my dad is lol) BUT the welds are all over the place in comparison to my bro's DC headers.

Even the damn ceramic looks like a layer of paint!

Uuuumm, im not sure I would sell those, since you are so pissed of the quality! Just remember, never to compromise your integrity as a person or a seller, you were unhappy with the quality and how shitty they were, dont pass on the sub-par product to someone else.

i agree. don't try to pass them on to someone else. get a paypal refund and send them back to the ebay seller

 

It sounds like you've been defeated already. I think you should fight this! Get your money back! Make a complaint with paypal ebay who the fuck ever. The product was not as advertised. Its that simple! Your unhappy as a paying cutomer. You have rights. This happens all the time and people get their money back.

So the ones you got look nothing like the auction pics? Cause the auction pics look damn good.

 

If u look at the ones in the auction pics the ceramic ones not the SS ones you can see they look EXACTLY like the ceramic ones being sold for $45 by other sellers.. I even posted both pics in the last thread..

 

OP please post pics so we can see the quality of the welds, and everything else. Maybe we can make a better comparison of the two brands stoned is referring to.

 

I bought mine from him in 2007. They fit and still good today. My only complaint is the "ceramic" coating burns off easy.

My XS headers looking like that on the inside....their welds are cheap also...but i don't have any issues...

 

na na na if you see the obx welds.... these surely are not they. Even the obx ones (stainless) have perfect(looking) welds. these are all over the place in comparison

and from the looks it doesn't really give me piece of mind by any means. I bet they'd do the job, but they fell far from my expectations..

I've never seen a header that didn't have mandrel bent pipes. Are you talking about the welded sections j-pipe?

Did you put on everything loose before you tightened it up? I had to use extra long bolts to get the parts to move around before I could get everything connected.

Unless you have X-ray eyes, there's no way to judge a weld by it's looks. Those welds don't LOOK bad. Stainless welds different than mild steel. Those look like mig welds compared to the stainless headers I've seen that were tig'ed.

Not all ceramic coating are the same. The cheap way is to spray it on and bake it. The best way is to spray it on hot, so hot it fuses with the steel. Does it look like it's stainless under the ceramic coating?

I feel your pain, I had to deal with a bad set of headers, it took almost 6 months to get 80% of my money back, I sucks that I wasn't fully reimbursed but what really sucked was that some people didn't get anything but a bunch of warped shiny pipes..
