dynomax vt muffler?

saw a quick add for this design on tv.

looked it up online and am considering it.

You can just cut the old mufflers off and slip these new ones on, and then slip on new tips? just would need to get hangers welds on?

I'd like to hear any and everything about these as they have a butterfly valve in the piping which opens all the way when u goose it. would these be the best for all around?

check it out

If its anything like putting any type of aftermarket exhaust on piping, it will need to be measured, welded, and hangers welded as well just like the stock stuff, least that is how my old setup was done, take em to an exhaust shop and ask someone he can tell you more, most exhaust is welded as far as I know haven't seen too many slip on and your done

The drone free valve would be the only thing good about that muffler, but its still straight through.
You can slip those on and clamp them down

and use the clamps with a new hanger under the clap setup and your done, this can be done without welding(my accord was done this way, and it works). The seal for exhaust leaks would be about 95% closed, but they are straight through so there wouldn't be any pressure to build up and cause a noticeable leak. And if your worried about leaks get some JB weld or copper exhaust gasket in a tube and coat the pipe before sliding it in to help seal it.
But for $190-220 for mufflers and clamps, I wouldn't waste my time.
You can get a resonator for a 1/6 of that price and get almost the same result.

A properly built exhaust wont drone.

i was just looking for the most gain off of mufflers.. so i don't need to look at the whole system. (the less that gets touched the better). I'd be willing to pay 500 or so for the mufflers and my oem tip welded on and then i'd just slip and clamp them on and throw some silicone gasket maker crap in there to seal it 100%.

I hate drone.. absolutely. which is what scares me when i think about getting a new exhaust. shipping say an ATLP kit (if they make it) or even the tanabe catback thats coming out apparently, would cost me a fortune up here in canada. therefore i'm looking at custom (and going to some exhaust shop i do not know scares me a lot too.)

thanks for the replies tho. i was just wondering if they would yield say more power than ct?

if i could squeeze out say 6-7hp outta those mufflers and know it'd be a meaner sound and not droney... i'd buy em most likely

More power than CT's, I'm gonna go with no.
Same power as CT's, maybe.
less drone, maybe slightly, meaner sound, should be a little quieter honestly?
Just some info here, I'm running a DC header, test pipe,2.5" all he way back into a 16" vibrant resinator ,then true Y into 2" into to magnaflow twin tips, with custom welded atlp look tips.
and its has very little drone, it does have a deep moan @ 2k cruising and sounds like a beast on wot, the only thing I hate about it is from 1200-1600 it has a small drone like a 4cylinder with a fart can, other than that it has no drone unless I'm cruising at 5k,lol.

Hope that helps with what you may need to hear to make decision's.
I think you will be fine with those mufflers as far as drone go's. Power, you wont gain..
And use the JEGS Sure Seal Exhaust Clamps!!!!!!!!!

Weld on a pair of Magnaflows and call it a day. It wont drone since you are keeping the OEM b-pipe.

Ill be making a video clip of my exhaust either Thursday or Friday this week. Ill post it up here so you can hear how it sounds.

Upgrading is the exhaust on the Type S won't yield you much power unless your going FI. Exhaust is only for looks/sounds at that point.

Come on progression, you've been on here long enough to know that.

Ive also got the Drone Cone from ATLP incase I do go single exhaust and need to tone it down, May be something you want to look into instead of 220+ worth of axleback work..
Im not sure about it fitting stock exhaust pipes...

I had these mufflers on my Accord and they had a tinny rattle at idle. They were apparently defective, so I returned them and got my money back. I wouldn't recommend them.

you'd probably get more power from upgrading your b-pipe to 2.5" until the Y split and keeping your mufflers. Get a nice big resonator in there and you won't have drone.
