Dyno shops -- it can make a difference

Dyno shop differences -- you decide:

http://disc.cba.uh.edu/~klee/Dyno/dyno.htm

Alamo Autosports

540i dynoed on 7/11/98 256.8 hp and 271.5 lb-ft torque

Motorsport Technologies

540i dynoed on 7/13/98 265.3 hp and 288.8 lb-ft torque

Interesting how just going to a different dyno shop a few days later makes for such a difference in max output and graph consistency and "shape"....

since dynos are a type of machine that measure outout (in this case hp and torque), don't they need to be calibrated now and then? Is this lack of calibration responsible 4 the discrepanscy?? thanks

I agree ...this is why I am interested in re-dynoing... however, the other dyno place is asking $150 for 3 pulls... I say suck it...
