This is true...a dyno will dispel all rumors...just like the dynos for the OBX would dispel rumors as well...dont count nashuas...he was on crack when he did his dyno.

I think its very possable to get these gains in power. Take [just for an example] a 400hp 3.2 v6, with stock exuast. Switching to a good exaust could easly net another 50-75hp with that motor. So if the stock intake is poorly designed for power production in the lower RPM [which it is, these are higher rpm motors] then these gains are possable.

WE NEED THE DYNOGRAPH!!!!!!!!!
Maybe but I was basing my numbers more towards Honda and Acura. There is no question that American engines can be tuned for greatly amount of power but Acura and Honda in general is not the case. Take the Mugen S2000 the amount of work and money that they invested to squeeze out 15 HP for $20K . The Honda S2000 has been optimized from the factory so their engineers had their work cut out for them.

read this...Mugen makes Comptech products seem like a real bargain

if the icebox gives 16hp, and all the dyno numbers we've seen for the SC include the icebox, then that would mean the SC only adds 34-44hp. or less.

DeezNuts and Inferno - I guess we'll find out tomorrow how much difference the Ice Box makes after our Group Install.

Sounds like our holding the line and getting our orders in early might payoff. If the results are anywhere close to those numbers, then these babies will be backordered for months. :P

hmmmmmmm... I love comptech products but the engineering to achieve 16 ft/lbs to the wheel is outstanding so I have to raise the:

Flag!

There is no way an intake with more restriction(the icebox) will create more power than an intake with less restriction(CAI/shortram).

Don't put your CAI/shortram on ebay yet...

Man, I’m so screwed…

Comptech Announcement from Feb 21, 2002 (late today): We have decided to only produce an initial run of 150 Ice Boxes for CL and CLS platforms. Beginning Feb 21, interested buyers will have to register on our website. When we have received 200 signatures and deposits (see deposit link), we will consider a second production run. A mandatory waiting period of 120-days is being instituted. The price has been increased to $500.00 and we thank the early group buyers and believe they should be rewarded. Comptech believes that hesitant and cautious buyers should pay for their behavior.

The paragraph above is a complete fabrication ;-/

That is so not funny Is that really true that they are making a limited run? I didn't read about any of that on the Comptech website.

Just a little note on the intake, it looks like the Icebox may be more of a 'Ram air' intake than the AEM, or other CAI's are. This could account for the increase performance from the Icebox over the others.

I am actually considering heavily on getting the Icebox, so anyone want to buy a CAI w/ Bypass and a new unused filter element (They sent me a replacement..so you get two). Of course i'm going to haveto buy the icebox first though
