so who had dynamated their car? i recently hooked up my 10" JL W6 v2 and it is rattling like crazy. i tried searching but i didnt find any good threads. is there anything else besides dynamat or something kinda cheap? and how do you install it? and where. i know its the 3rd brake light and the trunk
I have dynomat in my entire car, outer door skins and inner skins. Everything. Honestly the cheapest place to get it at is Ebay. Beyond that, even if you go with more of a generic brand (brown bread or something of the sort) it's going to do the same job. Just don't get the SUPER cheap stuff, the "tar" on the back will not hold as well in heat.
Otherwise with rattling, it's usually the extending of trunk-stops (rubber bolts) and the addition of foam/cardboard between any 2 pieces of anything that meet together.
Good luck.

I must have been lucky because my p1 12 doesn't rattle, the only thing that rattles in my car is the rear trunk lid. I just don't hear it when I have the music on because I keep turning it up until I don't anymore....Does dynomat really do much to the sound? I mean other than the rattles
Honestly Dynomat isn't going to cure all of your vibration problems, but it will help. Dynomat does wonders in making your front doors into "enclosures" for your components up front. With the Z's in my front doors and covering the skin (replacing that plastic crap inside the door, between the panel and the metal) creates such a good enclosure that ALMOST eliminates the need for a sub.
The whole car cost somewhere around the $800 range. But I have nerve damage to my ear drums (3 years on tour drumming = WHAT?) so the non-existance of road noise was worth it to me.
Extend the bump stops from the trunk, and put some coregated cardboard or foam behind the license plate. Those were the two problem areas I found.

the one that bothers me the most the the 3rd brake light. if i push it down it stops the rattle. and i stuffed a shoe lace where the plastic and window touches and it stops the rattling kinda. what else is there to use that is most obvious or what is the right way to prevent the 3rd brake light rattling

I just stuck 2 small pieces of double sided tape in between the 3rd brake light and the rear window. You cant see it because my rear window is tinted, it's not very noticeable anyway, and it solved the problem.
