Dumb question of the evening

My CL-S does not have the spoiler. I didn't feel like paying $800 for it at the time. For those of you that have FACTORY installed spoilers.... do you still have the third brakelight in the rear window? Or did they leave it off?

They disconnected the 3rd light in the rear window and connected the brake light in the spoiler. My Acura dealer did the factory spoiler installed for $450.00 ... Your dealer quoted $800.00???????????

Why not get an aftermarket spoiler? I don't see any difference...just a piece of plastic that's painted and mounted on your rear trunk lid. You save yourself a bit of money that way. That's what I did...and just to be different, I spliced the spoiler light in with the 3rd brake light so they both come on.

My aftermarket OEM style spoiler + paint/install...$170 USD

Plus, the spoiler comes with a 3 year warranty against any warping or defect. LED brake light 1 year warranty.

Yup. You gotta remember though, I bought one of the first ones out. There were no deals on anything.

I like Satin Slayer's idea. Any idea of who the after market people are?

Our best price is $510.00 for the factory spoiler and $60.00 to install. List on the spoiler is $599.00. In NJ, the law says we have to disconnect the original 3rd brake light and hook up the one in the spoiler. You can't have both working. Remember, the factory spoiler comes already painted to match, fits perfectly and is warranted for the same time as the car!
(Not to mention all our usual Park Ave Perks!)

factory spoiler at ahmotor is 479. + shipping will make it close to 500, so 510 + 60 install in not bad.

http://www.sportwing.com/spoilers/ for $238 -- they have gotten good reviews on this board -- I might get one. You know what is funny, if you ask my dealer to see the price list of dealer-installed options, they have the spoiler listed at $899. I laughed all the way back home after that visit

Polyshine Auto Accessories
110-3851 Jacombs Rd.
Richmond, B.C. V6V 2H7
tel (604)278-0682

cheap taiwanese generic brand spoiler...$145.00 CAD
GST/PST...$20.30 CAD

paint/install...$100 CAD

My friend at the autobody shop referred me to Polyshine so retail may be a little bit more expensive...maybe $20 or $30 if dealing direct. I went to pick it up myself, so my friend didn't mark up the price of the spoiler.
