Dropped Piglet off for a checkup
I took her to the dealer to have tranny #3 looked at today.
After being told on the phone last week that I would be in an Acura loaner, i was told this morning that an Enterprise loaner would be available. But, the TrailBlazer offered to me by the service advisor was apparently reserved for someone else, according to the Enterprise flunky. So, the service manager could tell that I was becoming annoyed, and he said, "just put 'em in Acura6 or Acura1. So, he gave me the keys to Acura1...an '04 SSM TL.
It's a nice car. I wish it were a 6-speed, but there's no way they'd have one for a loaner. It's quicker than my CL-S was stock, but certainly not quicker than my modded CL-S. (duh) It's roomier than I remembered from sitting in one in the showroom a couple months ago. The seats aren't quite as comfortable as the seats in the CL-S. Overall, it's a nice car. I want to drive a 6-speed, though, to see how I really feel about the TL. It's growing on me, fo sho.
BTW, the TL A-Spec rims, with Yokohamas, were offered at $2,280, installed. Nice rims, but I wouldn't pay that kinda dough to the dealer.

Long Island should be held at a higher standard then the rest of the mainland.

Well, I haven't heard anything from the dealer, so I'll continue to drive the TL. I'm liking it a little more after my two-hours-to-go-forty-five-miles commute this morning. Still not as comfy as the CL-S, but quite nice. It's strange to get on it, and not hear the scream of my AEM.
BTW, there's a sweet lookin' Black '04 TL in my parking lot at work. I'm guessing it's an A-Spec, cuz it has the rims, spoiler, and painted calipers. No badging or decals, though.

Heard rom the dealer a little while ago. They can't seem to hear the whining that I hear most of the time, so they asked for my permission so a service advisor could take it home tonight and drive it back in the morning. I said it was fine, as I've been dealing with him for years, and he'll likely be more gentle with the car than I am. :o Oh, well...another day of the TL loaner. :notbad:

Just heard from the dealer again. The service advisor couldn't hear or feel the symptoms I've been noticing. They will change the fluid, as it is dark. He said it's not burnt, though, so I guess that's a good sign. He said we'll just have to keep an eye on it. So, I'm gonna drop off the TL tonight and pick up my car.

My experience with the 04 TL loaner at Sunnyside was similar. I liked the CL-S better but it is hard to say the TL is better or worse when I have been driving the CL-S for 1.5 years and I only had the TL loaner for an afternoon. It wasn't enough that I wanted to trade in my car.
My car is in the shop still and probably will be until Tuesday or Wed. Count yourself lucky Bulldog01...I have a Chevy Aveo for a rental (from Enterprise). That car is a fuckin' rollerskate with doors POS Korean Flintstone car. A whopping 103hp! Hey...I have to pay for part of the rental price so I went cheap...I regret it but I'm too lazy to swap it for something better (but more expensive).

I picked the car up from the dealer this evening. The tranny fluid was changed and the shifting seems a little closer to normal. The service manager told me that if I start to have problems again, to bring it in. He said that it's documented now, and they'll take care of me. That made me feel better.
It felt strange to be back in the CL-S after three days of driving the TL. I felt like I was sitting atop the car rather than in it. I think because the TL doors (before the glass starts) are so tall. I'm glad to have her back, though.
