Driver's door hinge issue
Driver's door hinge issue
It was squeaking so I put some garage door lube in there on both hinges. Don't know if it's a coincidence, but now, the kinks or the stops don't work. It seems to be totally free. Anyway is that part of the hinge repairable or do I need to replace just one or both? Is the driver side rear door from a same generation TL the same hinge from a boneyard? Thanks in advance.

For anyone hunting a door squeak, our CL had one that was always at the same door position - when it was almost closed or just opening. Turned out to be this black rubber flap for lack of a better word at the top front. If it gets dried out, it squeaks as it rubs, which is at the door position I described. I used some weatherstripping cleaner/treatment and it stopped. I have to periodically do it again but try that if nothing else works.
