Driver Side Windows wont go down all the way!!!!!

the hell is this......
when i press down on the auto window button to open my driver side window, the window does down about a 1/3 way down and then stops. then when i press it again, it goes down another 1/3. so basically, in order to open my window all the way, i need to either press the damn button 3 times or hold it down!!

is anyone else having this problem?

i bought it to the dealer yesterday, and the mechanic said its probably some sap that got in between the door and the window. so he cleaned it out and reset the "timer" or "computer memory" of the window <~~ wasnt quite sure what he was talking about. but then, after work, i tried opening my window, and the problem still exists!!!

can anyone help me out with this problem, so maybe this time when i go back to the dealer, i can tell him exactly what's going on and how he may go about fixing it, instead of him telling me some sap got in my door!!!

thanks guys.....

You might be having the same problem I had with my '94 Prelude. I spoke with the service manager, & he said to spray silicone spray in the the window channel (rubber(?) guides on both sides of the glass that keep the glass in the proper plane). He said that's all the dealer does when people bring it in for that problem. I tried it and it solved my window problem. Hope it does the same for you.

Dude...we've all been thru this before....its a real minor problem....so you have to click twice on your window...oh well.....life goes on...and unless you are ready for an ass reaming on trading in your car....live with it....and there havent been any oil leak recalls.

Let me put it to you this way....minor problems are made all the better when you hear the dual plenum intake and then the VTEC kick in....

Been 105 index here. I used to have the problem. Dealership fixed it last year! I dunno what they did, but it doesn't happen anymore. I do remember the tech saying something about a window relay. And something else...

I'll ask next time I'm in there, and post again with the fix they did.

Happened to my son's '97 - thought it was a relay. The mechanic said relay was fine, just greased the regulator and scissor bars that raise & lower the window. Had to take door panel off. $105 Labor $2 parts.

I've had the switch replaced twice and the motor once, still fails. It is not just hot, but rather sun shining on the drivers side door. Mine will fail with temps in the mid 80's as long as the sun has been on the drivers side door for a couple of hours..
