Driver Side Window Shudders

I seem to recall reading about this in the Acura CL FAQ, but could not find it. Recently, Russian Dude posted about it. The responder noted that it gets worse when the window is wet, which is true in my case. The Extremely Useful Topics forum doesn't appear to have anything either, but I only scanned the topic titles.

At any rate, I remember reading a fix by someone who put some kind of lubricant into the window slot. Can anyone confirm this? Is there a fix for this? I recently had to have the window rotor repaired, and I notice that the shuddering has started up again. I am concerned that I will have to deal with this again down the road when the warranty is up. I have the 01 CL-S.

if you are still under warranty, have the dealer replace your window regulator. that's what i'm gonna do.

maybe i'll have it done while i'm getting a new tranny.

Yes, that's the problem. It seems to be common. I wish i could find that post that mentions the oil trick.

Ok I kinda have this problem but I didnt think it was where the window meets the door but where the door meets the frame of the car. Like around the door is the ruber weather strip and where that contacts the door when its closed. It rubs and makes that noise. I took it to the dealer and I think they just lubed it but it only lasted for a few months.

Yeah its anoying as hell and I have CT springs so I am guessing that it makes it a little worse with the stiffer ride. And I had a 01 CL-s and it didnt have this problem...but the 03 I have now does. I dont think the dealer can do anything other than lube it so I was thinking of getting some silicon spray and just keeping it lubed but im not sure if that will work.

mine makes jerking movements (which make loud sound) as it slides down ( only as I open window) Delaerships was fixing it two times, first they lubricated, then they adjusted run channel.... lubrication worked for 2 month, and adjustment did not work at all (seems like they did not do anything at all).
As Jens said, they need to replace window regulator... this is the root of the problem. other solutions are just temporary.
sometimes it does not do that or its not very obvious ( in the noisy dealership). so i am afraid I will get "could not reproduce".... I will go there for my 30K checkup soon, I will mention this. Maybe after I spend their few hundred bucks they wil have some decency to replace my regulator

CHECK THIS OUT PEOPLE!!!!

I had the same problem and the dealer replaced the motor probably 3 different times. I had contacted Acura about this problem and several other problems with the car so they had me meet with one of the higher ups. When I showed him this problem he said the problem is the lubrication that techs were using around the door seal to fix the problem! The lube gets gummy and causes the shuttering. In all actually there should be NO LUBE THERE!

Just take a very clean cloth and wipe the edge of the window REAL CLEAN. Then wipe ALL OF THE GUNK from the window frame. After doing this there should be NO SHUTTERING!

You sure it was the motor and not your window regulator? i never heard them replacing motor when window is shaking on the way down.
