I got an invitation for this in the mail a few weeks ago, when I called, they told me that I could sign up for test drives on up to 3 cars! I'm starting with a 3 series and working up to the 7 series - having fun for a good cause!

I clicked the link provided in the E-Mail and it links to the BMW page with all my info already filled out including the local dealer & date.
I don’t think I want to post THAT one here.

The root address is BMWUSA.com

I’m sure there is a local sign-up on there somewhere.

They have been doing this event for years (a nice thing).......they give you a map to go by in your area, but nobody pays attention to it.

The cars are all White with stickers and what not on them, you see them all day long on the road with people driving the shit out of them.

Its a good event,I noticed they toned down the models a bit (they had M3's several years ago, had an Mcoupe last year, Mroadster).

Did that last year. Terrorized the neighborhood with a Z3 2.5. We had 5 cars that left the dealership at the same time: Z3, 328 conv, 328, X5, and a 740. Racing along the way. Lots of fun.

We were stupid enough to follow the map though... :o

You are probably talking about some driving clinic offer to BMW customers.

This event is nothing like that...

I've done it for the last 3 years. Pretty cool, driving without any salesman, but to get a popular car (any of the M cars), you must reserve early. Plus, try to get a morning time-slot. Not everyone brings back the cars when they're supposed to......

I just called that number and got registered for the 26th of April. Unfortunately the cars were all booked but the lady told me they take walk-ins every half hour. I got nothing else to do that Fri. so I figure I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the info Shawn.

After checking out the Website, it doesn’t seem to be worth the trouble.

The only date for my local Allentown dealer is Thursday May 9th.
Most of the time slots are for during the day.
The only cars available in the 5PM time are the 325i, 330xi and 525i.

I’m not about to take a vacation day to go drive a car.

Oh Shawn, go ahead and take a day off

You probably deserve it. And, with the extra time you can do another coat of Z-stuff!! :P

I have reserved a 325ic (MT) and a Z3 (AT). I wanted a 330ic, but they were all ATs -- no fun.

I made my reservations for the PM (1 & 2), so only 1/2 day vacation used up for a worthy cause. A buddy of mine from work has time slots at 2 & 3, so he and I hope to swap cars on the half-hour. He's got the 525 & '7.'

Later,

Pete

EeeeeeeeeeeUP!!

I do plan on it.

Nothing new on the Golden Rule, unless you count a slight case of "curb rash" on the chromes!

I don't!!

Hey, I really like your wheels. They remind me of mine, somewhat!
