Door Sills: Have problem with order.

I ordered door sills from evolution-autodesign.com for a 2001 cl-s. When i received the door sills i began to put them on when i realized that they are to long. I'm not stupid i know where they are supposed to be placed so i could have not made that mistake. I called the company and told them the problem, the guy said the the size of the door sill should be 35.5 inch for my car. I measured it and it was correct. Then i measured my door sill which came out to be 33 inches, the guy said he hasn't had any problems of this type.

ANYONE HAVE A COMMENT ON THIS CAUSE I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO ??

i would just trim the door sill since the metal is so thin. then, sand down the edges. i was surprised to see how "cheap" looking it was. i expected a solid piece of metal or something. but yeah, that's how i got mine too. and also, it came all bent, making it look even more crap.

It's a cool mod as long as you can pick it up in person, bad thing is, most aftermarket pieces are junk.

I always thought it was pretty silly that they were tapped on with double sided tape.

I had a horrible experience with them, when I ordered mine, omg, took like 3 months. The guy kept LYING to me saying they had shipped when in fact they hadn't. Bad business. But I finally got them, they look nice, little cheap though.

I really gotta tell you how much I love Acurazine. This is the best site with dedicated members that really share their triumphs and follies in efforts to help other members. I have been looking for some Acura door sills for a while and I was about to purchase door sills from Evolution Auto Design but decided to do a quick search on Acurazine to see if any other members had purchased them and see how they felt about these sills. Sure enough, Acurazine members had found these sills and shared that they were an inferior product. A 2 year old thread saved me some cash. Thank you Acurazine!

inferior product?

I had mine on this car for 2+ years, & on my 1ST CLS for at least 2 years as well..
I never had any sort of problem with them.
I know there were a few problems early on when they 1st came out. They were resolved as far I know with some time.
Their customer service is lacking, but the product is ok. I'm not sure they even make them for the CLS any longer anyway.

I have had mine for 5 years Seems like a good product to me

A few times I have had to strip and reapply the adhesive tape, but that is no fault of the actual door sills.

After 5 years mine don't have any visible scratches, but then again I am anal about my car and I make sure no one steps on them.

Thanks for setting the record straight Fuzzy & Spdy0001. Has anyone ordered these door sills recently? If so, did you have any trouble with the door sill length? As well, do the door sills look thin, fragile and flumsy? Fuzzy, Spdy0001, or anyone else who has these door sills- can you show us how they look now that they have been on your car for a while?

They look just like they do on their website

Really if your putting this much thought into buying some aluminum door sills I don't think you will be satisfied with anything you would receive

Well...I'm not sure about that.

I think it's understandable people want to make sure it isn't a crap product before they spend $90 on some aluminum door sills.

I know I would.

You may not need to spend that much. Mention this site & that many people have them & they even did a few group buys in the not so recent past. You may get them a lot cheaper.
They have held up well. They do look flimsy. But once they are attached to the door sill they are ok. Fit fine.
I'll take a pic tonight.

if you were to order there, would it be 2 quantities or 1? hopefully they come in pairs, haha, didn't want to accidentally buy 2 sets.

then again, 170 for door sills are silly. they have to come in 2.

I'm pretty sure they come in a set of 2.

Selling one would probably cause them more customer service issues...

Thumbs down Same problem with evolution autodesign

I ordered a set - they took several weeks to arrive and then I find a...(drum roll please) set of TL-Type S door sills. Great work! I rechecked my order and there it was: "2001 CL Type S," right on the order form and confirmation.

So, I call them, and they finally pick up the phone and apologize, promising to get a CL set "right out" to me. I wait many weeks to get the CL set - which are...(wait for it) about 2 inches too long for the door! I figured I'd probably be dead before they got it right, so I just trimmed the sills with a pair of tin snips. They aren't perfect, but I have yet to have anyone notice my ghetto-mod.

On top of all this, they asked me if I would return the TL sills on my own dime. NFW! They are still sitting in my garage and they aren't going back.

I think they look okay, but if they were giving them away I wouldn't order another set because their customer service sucks. Stay away from this company.
