Dont you guys ever complain?

I dont have a CLS yet (June 1st I will). Plus i go to all the forums like bmws, lexus, jaguars and mercedes. You guys from this site and the TL site are the least to complain about their cars. Basicly you guys are the reason im buying the CLS over any other car. OK heres the list of the forums who complain the most to least about their cars.

1. Jaguar
2. bmw
3. mercedes
4. lexus
5. acura

CLS/TLS have very few "issues" well docummented and resolved by all folks here. Once Acura, or yourself get those litlle things fixe, plan of have at least 4-5 years of fun driving your CLS.

Enjoy your future CLS and drive safely.

I've got lots of complaints:
1. back end is butt ugly (a la Chevy)
2. no body kit is available
3. wheel design sucks
4. windshield wiper at speed is next to useless on the passenger side
5. shifts too quick from 1st to 2nd
6. paint quality on bumper is terrible (thin)
7. bottom part of seat is too short, should be longer or at least adjustable (ever drive a 3/5/7 series?)
8. washers only spray bottom half of windshield

I told myself this was one ugly car when it first came out. I'm still not that jazzed about it, even less so than I was with my 1st generation CL. Acura has to appeal to the old crowd (read conservative) so it designs a blahmobile. OTOH, this car goes like stink, is extremely dependable, comes LOADED with standard features other mfrs charge thousands for and there is no doubt the powerplant is an absolute gem coming from a top motorsport engineering firm. These last reasons sold me on the car after getting a 4 day test with it over Memorial Day weekend last year and I couldn't be happier. Just my 2 cents, now I'll sit back and wait to get flamed! Yikes!

BTW- I took delivery of my car June 1st too. Right after I settled a case against GM for $1.6M for marketing a dangerous part known as a flex fan. The part is being recalled this week by NHTSA and won't be killing or maiming any more innocent people after my partner and I petitioned NHTSA to do so. So yeah, June 1 is a good f*$kin' day to take delivery don't ya think?

Now here's your list of complaints if it was a Jag or a BMW
1. back end fell off the car - $3000 to replace
2. scrape the hell out of my body kit all the time cuz it's too low
3. wheels are beautiful but I bent one and it cost me $500 to replace (vs our $300 scratchies!)
4. windshield wiper broke
5. need new transmission
6. ??
7. bottom part of seat fell off
8. windshield washers broken

I jest of course

Haha Remember that jackass that came here and posted about his test drive of the CL-S? He said" The seat fell out of the car when he pulled over on the side of the highway?

Ahh good days.

As you can see, most of the complaints are subjective, and certainly do not apply to all CLs.

I visited this forum (when it was part of acura-tl.com) many months before I bought my CL-S back in December. While I did read about complaints it didn't stop me from buying a CL-S because most of the complaints were (and continue to be) for minor things.

aww c'mon! everyone knows there's at least little things that bother them about this car... but hey, nothing's perfect right... If you get a luxury car, some people might say 'its too big', 'it can't corner,' or 'its too heavy...' and if you get a sports car, some people might say 'it eats up too much gas' or 'it's too loud.'

if i had any major issues, i wouldn't be on this forum. I'm still here b/c i love this car, and plan to keep it for a while.

But here are the minor issues (besides issues on styling and body kits etc...)-

- the seat belt doesn't retract too well
- shifting gears 1->2 is overrided by ECU
- bad aerodynamics of rear view mirrors
- BOSE system needs more bass
- people complain about random rattles, but i don't have any, so its all good for me (knocking on wood right now)...

well, there's more likes than dislikes, so the top list doesn't bother me much... but if they were fixed to my liking, i would almost say the car is perfect!

You certainly made a good choice in choosing the Acura. We're here to share praise, not only to bitch about problems and together discover ways to fix them. Good luck with your new car!
