Does you tranny feel "loose"?
Does you tranny feel "loose"?
Its hard to explain and its always done it. I haven't driven that many autos so I don't know if its a characteristic of autos in general or just ours. Anyway, say you're making a left turn from a stop. You hit the gas, the car goes, it shifts from 1-2 in sportshift. But since you're turning and not racing, you hold light throttle through the turn. The revs drop. Then you give it a little more gas and the revs spike and the car goes. It reminds be of towing someting with a bungee cord. Think about it. You hit the gas and the cord stretches but it takes a while for the trailer to speed up. But if you let off the gas, the trailer catches up and wacks your bumper. That's what I mean by loose. Like there's a lot of play between the engine and the wheels.

But its not shifting. I'm in sportshift so once it hits 2nd it stays there unless I really punch it and get a kickdown to 1st.

Yeah, i feel this. I think it might be the torque converter going from partial lock-up to full lock-up.

Yeah, that's kinda what I was thinking. Damn annoying whatever it is. Like trying to slow dance with a klutzy girl who tries to lead too. I think I'll go find a 6 speed to drive today.
