Does our A/C compressor have a clutch????

My 1995 T-Bird SC (Yes i know it is UAW built trash , but it was the best I knew of or could afford in 1994....BTW 13.20@109) it had a compressor override when WOT or at least 75% throttle to take the load off the engine. My CL seems to lose the dry cold air under heavy acceleration for 10 or more seconds. Can we assume it is the same????

Yes it does.

To test it, get going on a highway or a long straightaway where you don’t have to worry about traffic.
Turn the air temp WAY down to 60 or so.
Once the COLD air starts blowing……..FLOOR IT.

While accelerating, the air from the vents will get noticeably warmer as the A/C compressor cuts OFF temporarily.
