Does a lincoln ls v8 have a chance against me??
This kid i know wants to race me in his v8 ls ans he claims his car is fast as fuck. He says he destroyed a sts, i've raced a ls v8 in a dts and they were dead even from 0-50, this guy is so sure hes gonna beat me he's puttin $500 on the race 0-80 mph vs my cl-s. I'm pretty sure i'll toast this guy w/ no problem cause i'm feelin pretty good about my car after i handed that gs 400 by almost 2 cars. Maybe i'll even give this guy in the ls a car length head start. This is gonna be easy money, i hopt he dont back out of the race.
I'll let yall know what happens, his car is where most lincoln ls's are at, in the shop cause they are always fuckin broken, lol.

Well, if you're towing a Ford Explorer, maybe then he can beat you stock to stock. Make sure this guy is stock first, ask around. Don't give him shit for a head start...let him earn that money if he deserves it. and race the full 1/4, fuck him and his 80....get that 500 bux. if you don't know what the 1/4 is, then go to your trap speed at the track....you have been right?
well, if not, screw it, go to around 96 - 98 mph, closer than 80...
now go make my money! oops, my fault, forceof habit...pimpin ain't easy

If it's a 2003 LS, they have 280hp and a whole lot of Torque. Not sure it they are out yet though.
Otherwise, an older 252hp LS is no match unless he has some serious stuff under his hood

No problem, they're real heavy cars, and theydon't even have a manual do they? let alone a close-ratio six speed like our type-s. Destroy him! Go buy an intake with the money you win!!

My bet is he'll be running a 100 shot or something like that, or he won't show. Putting down 500 is either really stupid or just a ploy to sucker you in.

no way a ls v8 beat a sts. As for the Cl-s, no prob, you will destroy him. The LS is the only lincoln worth a thing, whats this about 280 hp, please enlightne me!!
techinaclly the DTS would be dead even with a LS v8, considering a band launch in the DTS, plus the LS gots RWD.
If you put the gear selsctor in "2" on the DTS, you will get a firmer, faster, crisper shift (1-2).
Let us see how had that LS gets roasted by the CL!

Quote:
Due in showrooms late this year, the redone LS gets a 280-hp 3.9-liter V8 (up 28 hp thanks to variable intake valve timing), while the same technology boosts the 3.0-liter V6’s output by 12 hp to 232 hp
The LS 3.9-liter DOHC V-8 engine, which now incorporates variable intake valve timing, produces 28 more horsepower for a total of 280 hp, and 21 lbs.-ft. more torque for a total of 286 lbs.-ft. Some 250 lbs.-ft. of torque is available at only 2,000 rpm.
