Hehe same thing just different terms for turbo(intercooler) and s/c(aftercooler).

 

You would have to get the higher boost pulley to offset the pressure losses that are inherant in using an intercooler/aftercooler. I heard some of the SC users are experiencing intermittant ping issues hopefully this will solve it.

 

running an aquamist injection system would be a good idea for supercharger owners...just $200 or so....a simple and elegant systems that helps lower IATs.

 

I have extensive experience with the ERL Aquamist system. I had one of the first ones on a passenger vehicle in the states back over five year ago (on my GTP).

I know the benefits of such a system but they are not entirely applicable here. You must first understand the issue before trying to solve it and this is not a simple knock issue.

Additionally, where are the ERL systems being sold for $200; mine cost over $600...

 

Where did you hear this?? As far as I know I am the only one to announce about running the higher boost pulley let alone state there are pinging issues.

 

No pinging for me. As a matter of fact, i sometimes forget i have the SC it's so linear, until i floor it that is

 

Ah, but try about 50% more boost and things might change a bit.

Actually I am curious how the automatic would respond to running the upgraded pulley. Mine seems to be doing well now that I have installed a couple of tricks to take care the fuel and iginition when the VTEC solenoid opens. But since the auto would load the engine differently I wonder if the knock issue I experienced with more boost would onset sooner in the auto; maybe in 1st gear even.

In the end I think I might just slap back on the standard pulley to be safe for the long run.

 

Scalbert, something tells me i should be happy with the boost as is I will take the piggyback ECU when it's available though.

 

has anyone heard any news on the piggyback ecu im waiting for it but have heard that someone has the unichip anyone know where they got it?
