Does anyone use AMS oil?

Does anyone use AMS oil. How many miles were on the car when you switched? What weight do you use? Do you use the AMS filter, if so what part number is that? Have you replaced your automatic transmission fluid with AMS, if so when? Have you previously used AMS products, if so did you like them?

I have never heard of AMS products. I did extensive research and found that Mobil 1 oil and filters are THE BEST ! Specifically Synthectic Mobil 1 oil. The manual recommends 5w30 for the CLP/Type S ! I change my every 5000 miles !

YES,3700,5w30,yes,sdf20 same as 1999TL,no but will at 10k miles,no researched the he!! on synthetics: couldn't find any independent test data that had any other brand that tested better, mobil 1 comes close if you want a name that is familiar. I will be changing every 6k, There's some that keep in there a lot longer. read about oil here and search the web on synthetics; lots of fun reading. http://www.seansa4page.com/resource/autotech.html

AMSoil is the best, not Mobil 1. I don't use it but I have seen the data. Expensive stuff!

You never heard of them cuz it's AMSOIL, not AMS oil! They were the first synthetic on the market. Definitely one of the best.. but pricey.... boy are they pricey!!!!!!!!!!!

Mobil 1 is definitely NOT the best. They most likely no longer use 100% synth anymore. Look for the topic from about 2 days ago on this. Mobil is virtually at the lower end of the test on all the oil analysis and breakdown tests that have been done. AmsOil is usually at the top, if not THE top. You get what you pay for. Redline and AmsOil are the two to go with!

amsoil is definitely high quality oil. I used to use amsoil in my rx7 turbo and on my truck. Good stuff but expensive.

Hi Guys,

One of your posters e-mailed after reading my article on Sean's4 page. I am happy to see that many of you who posted on this thread have done your homework and found that Amsoil is inedeed top quality stuff.

Many have posted that it is very pricey. Yes the top level blends are but we have a couple of blends that are very cost competitive wity Mobil-1 (in some cases cheaper) and as long as you are just using the car for the street, these blends are every bit as good and arguably better than Mobil-1. The race oils are pricey but no more so than Redline and for a car that is driven on the street 95% of the time and only occasionally on the track, these oils are better "compromise" for your car.

Amsoil products are sold mostly factory direct and dealers such as me are compensated a small commission if we send new customers to the online store or the 800-956-5695. The online store can be accessed at www.lubedealer.com/dstevens and if you buy anything there use 508684 as your customer number. This way Amsoil knows I sent you.

Also, I can get you some very nice discounts if you buy enough quantity (a case or two depending upon product) so if you are thinking about your car, wife's car, etc., you can actually save money over convetional oil and 3000 mile changes and be putting a far superior product in your car.

Feel free to e-mail me with any questions.

Tnanks,

Don Stevens
