Does anyone know how to remove the main relay on a 2003 CL type S?
I am having an issue with my 2003 CL type S not starting when it's really hot outside. I read some previous discussions and think it is most likely the main relay. In doing some research on the Internet I have determined the location of the main relay itself, but does anyone know how to get it off??
Looking under the dash I found a bolt that appears to hold a bracket in place that holds the black main relay box, and the box itself has some "wiggle room" but doesn't come off the top. I previously ready you need a 10mm socket. I used a 15/32 socket that fits perfect on all other bolts under the dash but doesn't seem to fit over this one bolt that's holding the bracket in place. Is this even the correct way to get it off?
If anyone has any suggestions/instructions, it would be MUCH appreciated. It's very frustrating and from what I've read, I think this should be relatively easy to replace?
Thanks,
- Mike

When i changed mine i just plugged in the new one and zip tied it up. It does have a clip but i think yoou have to get at it from the top if i remember right.
i also think there is a way to leave the cover in the clip and swap the inside of the relay.
