OK so i just got my Aem intake installed with the bypass valve (saftey first) i got magnaflow mufflers installed also. I am now thinking of doing straight pipes. Does anyone have this done? andy vids or sound clips?

 

Youre in NY right? Straight pipes will get you pulled over really quick.

 

as in no cats or resonator? it'll sound like steamy poo smells.

i got 3" straight pipe to 2.5" magnaflow straight flow muffler. then i also got the option of open headers. doesnt sound too back. especially when it back fires and pop. ppl jump out of the way. lol

leave the cat but take the resonater off and go to magnaflow 14832 and civic i dont get tix

This. Unless the car is incredibly fast, having such a loud exhaust is pointless.

 

and even then being a "luxary" car, i think it be better to keep it toned done some, so it is not like the civic's and the image

 

When I had my car dyno'd, they had a red Nismo 350Z in there (looked really nice). One guy turned to me and said "I love your exhaust, its so quiet. That thing (points to 350Z) is so damn loud, and you make more power."

 

basically needs to be understated (and you can make any exhaust quiet, and not sacrifice performance, just gotta make sure you have the correct size piping and a good quality muffler, with a free flowing design)

 

Loud =/= more power
