Does anyone know the increase in sway bar size from the CL to CL-S.

If anyone knows the torsion rate from the CL/TL to the CL-S, I would appreciate it.

So, are you telling me that the guy I talked to a Comptech is a moron?

He was telling me that the CL-S had a different bar. Is this BS?

Sorry to beat a dead horse, but I need call these guys back!

I finally talked to one of "tech" guys. The effect is to promote slight oversteer from understeer. Here is the info:

TL front 1.075" thick .107 wall thickness
CLS front 1.075" thick .177 wall thickness

Even though the TL and CL-S have the same diameter bar, the CL-S has a thicker wall.

I guess I'll get used to less push and get ready to catch the back end.

Thats my only complaint. It seems as if I have to fight the car to get the back end around on turns. Springs helped with the roll but didn not stop it from pushing into turns.

I find that with just the sways (and stock springs and tires), the car goes where I point it.

Before in a hard turn, the car wanted to roll out into the other lane. If I turned harder into it, the back felt like it was about to break loose, felt like the inside rear tire was ready to lift off the road or lose traction.

With just the sways, all four tires stay planted. When I turn harder, the car goes where I want it to. When I push too much, it feels like the whole car will break loose and not just one tire.

does this make any sense?

Kinda...

There is whole lot going on in this car. Being front heavy, some of the rules need to be altered to some extent.

Some comments:

With the stock car, but with the Toyos, the car is perfect doing really fast tight turns. I believe the shocks are getting the workout on the transients.

When the car goes to steady state -- like a skid pad, the shocks could be removed if the skid pad was smooth enough (and driver smooth enough). The shocks are eliminated from the equation to a great degree.

So, when the car is in a skid pad like "pose" -- going around a constant radius high-speed turn, I like the car to be able to have both ends come loose at the same time, or have just a little bit of front end push (not a lot).

So, if any of you guys get in a constant turn, and get the front or rear to come loose, please comment on your setup.

Forget out the fast turns, negative camber stuff, and bumpy roads.

A skid pad test would be worth $$$ -- we need our own magazine! (yea, just a fantasy)
