Does Acura think I'm F**KING STUPID?
I took my car in this A.M. for a second round of electrical problems since May in which the car stutters and tries to stall at a red light after 20 or so minutes of moving at a brisk pace (i.e., ripping ass up the freeway.) I just got a call from my S.A. saying that his tech had been on the line with Acura and that they had surmised that I had been sitting in park for extended periods of time with the engine running...
WHAT THE FUCK??? Can you say EXCUSES?![Mad](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/mad.gif)
"Ummm... NO!!!! Keep working on it chief."

So what exactly are they saying? Do they think that the extended idling could have overheated/clogged your catalytic converter?
Unless it's damaged, I don't see why extended idling would cause stalling???

I don't know about that. I'd rather the car stall than catch on fire like the 3 Series with the bad auxiliary fans.

FYI 1 CL-S and 1 TL-S were recently caught on fire. Electrical problems.

Hmmm.....
I've seen complaints from X5 owners on the BMW boards, but I don't ever see any 3 series owners complaining of fires.....
I wonder how many 3 series actually caught fire? From what I've read in the past, the number of vehicles that actually caught fire compared to the number of vehicles with the faulty fan/relay was around 1%

Anyway, back to the original topic:
Droideka, I'm not saying that you do/don't idle your car for extended periods. I'm trying to find out what your Acura dealer is trying to tell you....
What is their explanation? Let's assume that you DID idle your car for hours every day. So what? How does Acura explain that it could cause stalling?

Happened to me again this morning. After about the third time I had to stop at a red light, it started idling normally again. I'm going in Thursday for the 15k service and I'll see what they tell me.

Dec. 18, 2000, and April 30, 2001; and Z8s built between Jan. 1 and April 30. The recalled vehicles represent a little more than 10 percent of BMW’s annual U.S. sales of cars and light trucks.
