Do you use Octane booster?
Do you use Octane booster?
I said what the heck, Penzol's Octane Performance booster for $2.49, I picked one and poor it over the premium 93 Octane I pump.
Do I gain anything? or is just a thing that makes you feel good.

it may have cleaners in it to clean your tubes.
but since you are already using premium, the octane boost isnt' going to do anything.
it's for people with ignition timing problems where their car pings even when they use premium gasoline.

I think the mag import tuner did a dyno on the NOS off-road octane booster and it did gain 1-2hp. And it did raise the octane rating by 1-2 points as well. But I don't remember what car they were using it on. (New/old, turbo/non-turbo) I would think that yeah you could see some benfits from it but you would have to adjust the timing a few degrees. It is just a cheaper soultion to buying race gas.

That 104 in the can didn't do much for some 12:1 compression engines without engine management. This is from a few years ago, and these were some motors that we built up...
BTW -- the 100-octane fuel worked fine, we finally tried adding 3 bottles (of 104 booster) to 12 gallons of gas, and couldn't tell the difference. (CLS NOTES): I do notice the difference getting "real" 100 octane in the CLS (vs. the 91 octane), but don't expect to get more than a few ponies out of it, and it may have to due to the make-up of the gasoline, not the octane (my opinion)...
