And even though the Accord may be the better buy at this point in time, I don't like the way it looks and don't think it really looks like our CLs. Like people are stating, the CL is much sleeker and classier, while the Accord looks bloated with somewhat of a Mercury Cougar looking side-profile. In fact, I think the Cougar may even look better. I remember seeing the Accord with 19s photoshopped on it and it did look much better, but after seeing it in person it's just not something I like much. I guess I may grow into it after a couple years, but right now it just looks very cheap...exterior-wise. And lets not even talk about the sedan, that thing is butt-ugly. Too bad they screwed the exterior up, like pretty much every auto company is currently doing.

as far as styling: I think it's improvement from the last gen Accords
as far as drivetrain: I think they did a EXCELLENT JOB getting a extra 40 HP out of the heads(the block from the old accord and the block from the new accord v-6 are the same) just the heads are different. my only b!tch is you can't do a put on performance headers like Comptech or OBX

I just saw a new Silver one on the road and had a chance to check it for a short while.
While trying to be totally objective and visualizing it modified with wheels/ lowered... it just didn't work. Not like the feeling I got when I first saw the CL when it came out.
And another thing, in my mind if a car doesn't impress you in Stock factory looks, that feeling probably won't change much no matter how much money you throw at it.

Damn, in the pic of the black Accord, it looks like a Civic. I actually prefer the sedan to the coupe this time. Last gen, I prefered the coupe to the sedan.
Oh well, it's an Accord so no one should be surprised.

It will then look like a CLS. :P

I like the styling of the new Accord coupe. I don't think it's an improvement over the previous gen but it's still eye catching. And I know I'm probably going to offend some people here but I think the Accord coupe looks better then the CL (the sedan vs TL is a different story).
But we really can't sit here and compare the coupe and the CL. They aren't designed to be direct competition. The way I see it, the coupe is (obviously) the two door version of one of the best economy sedans available...but also, it's the replacement for the late great Prelude. However, the CL is a two door luxury cruiser. We only compare them because they're made by the same company (and seemingly why so many CL owners are getting defensive about it).
Honda isn't trying to lure CL owners to it. The new Accord is a great step up for Civic owners or previous gen Accord owners but I see no reason for a CL owner to trade in they're luxury car for it. IMHO
