Sorry... I just can't stand it... It is the ugliest Honda ever built in Honda history IMO... The only part I like is the rear (sort of like CLK).

Good Honda design era is gone... I am so disappointed by Honda's new designs. I seriously doubt the 2004 TL will look any good.

Did Honda hired those designers fired by GMC?

oh the interior looks nice but the exterior is what most people will see.

true. The accord actually will get a bodykit, and will be the bread and butter for honda...

Then again, just take off the honda emblem off the car, and put an acura one, and you got yourself a nicer CLS.

Now tell me, what does your CLS 6-speed have that the accord coupe 6-speed doesnt?

I don’t have a standard equipment list in front of me, but I know there are several items.
With the Xenon headlights being one of the biggest.

And I know the accord has some features that are better then the 3-Year old CL design, but that’s been covered in detail before.
If/when the next CL/TL comes out I’m sure it will effectively leapfrog the Accord’s feature list again.

My wife went to go test drive the new accord coupe, she's currently driving a 03 TLS and drives my cl on occasion.. Here's Her much condensed thoughts:

Navi Accord Much Better!!!
Exterior nod goes to CL "The accord kind looks like a civic to me"
Interior nod goes to CL "I like the acura interior placement and seat feel"
Asked her about performance, and she said "i don't know felt about the same as my tl, you know i can't tell..."

Overall my wife says - Cl/TL gets the NOD

I liked the previous Accord coupe styling much better. The new one looks like they took an interesting body style and went nuts with the belt sander and 60 grit paper.

i think the accord would look ok fixed up, but it looks like s**t stock (esp. the front). however i think our cars look really nice stock, but f**king tits fixed up. also, i think if we had the aftermarket support that the accord's gonna have, it would be no contest. the middle dash area looks pretty cool in those cars though...guage cluster looks kina wimpy.

If I was in a market for a FWD coupe then the Accord EX with NAV would be it. Of course it would have to be a PURCHASE...since keeping it stock wouldn't be an option. Personally, the bodykit would definitely be one of the first required upgrades before even driving it off the lot.

i personally think it's ok, but it is still an ACCORD....which isn't a bad thing necessarily, but to me it is.

Come on guys ! The CL is Sleek, Stealth, handsome and the quality shows....
The New Accord Coupe from the side is BUTT UGLY ! Short fat front end, rammed ass end, big tall windows, look at the CL, they are sleek and much more narrower !
CHEAP comes to mind when I see it. The 4 door is beyond ugly....

And not only is it sinfully ugly, im ALREADY starting to see sedan/coupe all the time...give it a year, and it will be ever 5th car, another year after that every 3rd.....i appreciate that the CL is like every 150th car in my area....

Congrats to you who only care about a car that women like and that are rare. I want a nice car that I like. To me the coupe is cool but it needs to be dropped. Other then that i cant ask for much more.

I don't see the big deal in this Accord Cpe -- Acura CL comparison.

And a new thread on it every week is not convincing me to go on a lot and buy me an Accord.

I would have expected The new Accord to advance since our CL was released back in 2000.

Honda's stuck on their whole generation rotation thing. What is it? Every 5 years the car changes or something like that. If the CL exists and they make a new generation of it, it's gonna surpass the Accord somewhat but not too dramatically. Maybe 280-300hp and LSD. But what else more could it have? Nowadays all these cars have every damn option you can think of. Maybe the CL will have some Brembos, coilovers?, what else. The new Accord doesn't have Xenons, LSD, 20 hp and xx tq, SS on autos (who cares), and what else that matters? It's a $5000 difference. What more can you put on a newer CL? From what I see the cheaper cars are catching up to the pricey ones. Look at the POS RL. What does it have that the new 6spd doesnt have? Standard Navi and 15 less hp. Big whoop for $15,000 more. But then you got pre-$20k Neons with 240hp runnin around.

The whole looks thing is irrelevant either way. Go to accordv6.com and see how many people sweat the new Accord. Sure not 100% but majority like 85%. Exact opposite here. No shit sherlock. Now lets pretend the new CL-S came out before the Accord, and it looked EXACTLY like the Accord except with xenons, LSD, 20hp+ more and the 2 or 3 other options it has on the Accord. Everyone here on acura-cl.com would sweat the hell out of it. My point on looks: biasness is about in full swing and everyone's tastes are different.

The point of these last 2 statements. Even though I'm an Accord guy it is kind of pointless, albeit funny , to brag about a non-Acura (it's still Honda, shhh pass it around) in an Acura site. You're not gonna win everyone's approval whether they just prefer what they got or they're just straight up hating. I'm sure Torqueaholic is just messin around, but let's not get our panties too bunched up. Remember guys, according to Geo lovers, they're cars are the SHITTTT!!!!!!!!!!!

Some of you guys seem to have a real BONER over comparing these two cars.

If you go to Acura.com or Hondacars.com you can do a direct comparison and get an exact spec list between the Accord & CL-S.
There are also many side-by-side photos from different angles inside and out.

If you run the comparison from the Acura website they seem to stress the advantages that the CL has.
If you run it at the Honda site the opposite is true. They don’t mention the Xenon’s or many seat functions, but they stress the advantages in the new NAV system.
Funny how that works out…..huh?

One BIG discrepancy I see that no one has brought up is the standard warranty.
3 year/36,000 for the Honda vs 4 year/50,000 for Acura.
