Question Disable Auto-Dim Rear View

Is there a way to disable the auto-dimming rear view mirror permanently or do I just have to hit the button every time to turn it off? I've never been a fan of changing the mirror at night and with the rear tint it makes it very hard to see anything in the mirror.

On the navi version the only way I know off is to disconnect the connector in the headliner. It will also disconnect the onstar. The fuse is tied into other things so pulling that will not work well.

Hmmmm, ok. Can I just disconnect it from the back of the rear view mirror? I'm thinking about using the power to it to run a radar detector anyways. I don't use the OnStar (and it looks like we can't even if we want to after the end of this year).

So the navi cars don't have a button to turn it off? My '01 did but it was a non-navi car.

My 99TL has an on/off switch on the bottom of the mirror. It's off until I turn it back on.

No, navi has an off button also, but it doesn't stay off. It will come back on the next time you start the car. Then you have to turn it off again.
