Difference in Header output? for tech gurus
Difference in Header output? for tech gurus
What accounts for the difference in output between Comptech headers on a CLP/TL versus the S?
The TL can gain like 17, whereas the S gains like 30.
Different tranny/gearbox?
Is it cuz the S has IMRC/Twin Chamber induction plenum ?
Higher Compression ratio, larger valves?
Exhaust system?

Educated guess:
The CLS is flowing higher speed gas with the more agressive compression and cam at high speed. The stock header is really lousy and the 2 A-pipes don't "merge" gently. In fact, the stock header on the TL/CL/CL-S has lots or right angles or worse.
So, if you have slow moving gas, it isn't going to care as much. If you have fast moving gas, it does care about making right turns.
If you were walking, how hard is it to turn right? If you are running fast how hard is it to make a hard right?
(Best I can do at this moment)
