Did my Spark plugs today
Man, I decided to do my plugs today at 42K Kilometers.
Just from reading past threads about how much better gas milage people have been getting and how much better it ran.
Man after I change the plugs, it just drove so much better, car flew! Response was a lot faster.
I ended up buying Bosche Platnium 4's. They were damn expensive. About $10 a piece.
Bosche platnium 4's cant be gapped because they're 4 pronged. So I had to buy the proper ones.
Did my oil too with synthentic 5W20
I couldn't get a hold of a pvc valve or a fuel filter.
Does a fuel filter exist for our cars?
And where is it?!
Where is the pvc valve?!
As well, is it possible to change the tranny fluid in my CLP?! Or do I have to go out and get it flushed?! I don't know if our cars have a drain plug for the tranny or if its just the pan, and if it is just the pan then how would i drain all of the tranny fluid out?!

what are the recommended plugs for our cars? i've seen a dramatic decrease in mileage per tank recently and want to do the plugs. used to get about 260/tank, but it's down to about 200
how often should the wires be changed?
as for the tranny flush, i went to my friend's shell rapid lube. there's a magnetic drain plug...and as i expected, there were metal shavings all clustered up on the drain plug. i then got the recall notice and had the jet kit installed. hopefully this will prevent any tranny issues

Also, there are no wiresets for our cars. The coilpack sits on the plug, so if the plug is not getting the spark, the entire coilpack needs to be replaces (not very likely or ofter)

how tough is it to change the rear plugs? i may give it a shot this weekend. is bosch platinum the way to go? i've replaced my air filter, done alignment, new brakes, fuel injector cleaning...so i guess my plugs are the only thing left on the list as far as gas mileage goes.
what's the recommended mileage for replacing the coilpack? how much is it?
thanks!!!

I would go with Denso or NGK...but plats are ok too

If you do some poking around, you will find that the Bosch Plugs are designed and made in europe for more or a european car. I've actually had both! I am running on the NGK Platinums XI i think, but I would never put the Bosch plugs back in compared to the NGK's. NGK = Japanese make. you can find the NGK's all six for $40 shipped on ebay. This is just IMO. I did do some research on whole subject, both are great... just go NGK on a toss up..
back ones aren't too difficult. I didn't take off the strut bar so i had to squeeze my hand in. And yes there are no real wires to change on our cars. Just the Boot. But those usually stay really well the way they are designed. As long as you don't see build up on your sparks at the top from corrosion or anything those boots should be fine. I changed all my plugs in about an hour and this is the first time doing it, with no instructions but a bit of mechanic background. just make sure you don't overtighten, make sure you don't cross thread. Best way to load the new plug in is to get a rubber tube and slip it on the top of the spark plug and load it into the holes that way and tighten with the rubber tube. Then take your spark plug socket with extention and turn it by hand, if it keeps turning for a bit then you are not cross threaded. As soon as you can't tighten with your hand anymore, use a socket wrench and turn about 20 lbs of torque, make sure you do not over tighter.
I still have to change my pvc valve, its on the way for acura, couldn't find it at a regular autoparts store.
IT was like 30 sumthang dollars.
As well our cars don't have fuel filters.
I was told the factory NGK plus in there should last to 100k kilmoters before needed to be changed, but I just wanted to change them at 40k kilomteres just to see how much better the car would run.
When i hit the higher rpm's man it flies, its so jumpy to the power in the higher end rpms.
Going to do a coolant flush soon and tranny fluid change.
Then change the rotos and brake pads and brake lines and bleed them.
Thinking about upgrading my rear disc brakes to bigger ones as well.
