No, I didn't lose to one. But I was on the way to work and one screwed up behind me (ALtezzas, wing, big exhaust, kid with goatee and hat on sideways). He proceeded to zip around a bit and he was pretty fast it seemed. If the road was clear I would have ripped him one but I am wondering if anyone knows what is available for the Del Sol? I thought they had the 1.4L 4-cyl....120hp or something.

Back "in the day" I ruined a riced out one in my Prelude (1998) but he was with a buddy that smacked my ass at about 100mph in a de-badged Integra. At about 110mph the Integra started walking....I was confused and embarassed. This Del Sol seemed faster than the one that day that got smoked (I assume it was all fo' decorashun').

 

I think they have 1.6 liter Vtec in the later models... maybe 160 HP.

Still a Del-Slow.....

They all look fugly IMO.

 

There were 3 versions:

S - 1.5L, 102hp, 98ft-lbs (girlfriend had one = SLOW!)
Si - 1.6L, 125hp, 106 ft-lbs.
VTEC - 1.6L 160hp, 111ft-lbs.

I have only driven the sad, sad S model. My guess is with 50% more power it would be pretty quick because it only weighed 2300lbs...

No ferrizo, I didn't even try. Thanks for the abuse though. I was just curious about parts for them since he seemed pretty quick. I think that racing a Del Sol would fall into the "waste of gas" catagory except for the fact that the driver probably needed to get taken to the BlackmagiCL_S school of ricer abuse. He looked like a cocky bastard.

Hey, you guys remembe Micro Machines, the lil toy cars they make. Lol, when I was a kid I used to think they were the shizit, and they had a supercar pack. Even then I knew the Del Sol shouldn't have been in it. :shakehd: :ghey:

 

not all Del Sols are slow there's a guy here he has a custom Del Sol with a H22 motor in it. IT f#CKING QUICK. because one afternoon I was coming home from school. and i thought it was just a Si(with the stock motor)(I started revving up to him)(he has the big pipe and everything). Then he JUST TOASTED ME. then we pulled off in the next parking lot I said what the hell did you do to that Del Sol. here to find out he has a JDM H22 in it. all the motor mounts and transmission mounts were custom but if i remember right he had to cut some of the firewall out to fit in the H22. if you factor in the HP to weight of the car ratio it's unreal. the ratio has to be close to a S2000.
