Question DEI 508D & Wireless Internet = Failure

So I just got my Viper 5900 alarm installed with the proximity sensor, power window module, remote start and tilt sensor.

Everything was great til I came home and parked in the garage. Then, sudeenly, my internet stopped working. I know its my car alarm cause when I pull the car out and park it in the street, my internet works again.

I already tried bypassing the 508D (proximity sensor) but that didnt do anything for me.

Any suggestions fellas???

Please help. I dont want to leave my car out on the street every night!!!

Try moving your router to another room in the house not so near the garage.

or try changing your wireless channel. It can sometimes cause interference with other wireless signals.

x2 on changing the wireless channel. go to internet explorer and type in 192.168.1.1 and type in your routers password. in there you should see a broadcast settings area where you can change the channel

lol funny how you said it . Alarm + internet = FAIL. does having the car disarmed help at all? it should create an open circuit (correct me if Im wrong), shutting off all the accessories to the alarm.

Try switching it to channel 11. Works better for me at least (due to other household appliances).

Ya thanks Grant. That was the first thing I tried actually, disarming it all together. Then I tried to just by pass the proximity by itself and still nothing. I got my room mate trouble shooting it this weekend.
