What's it mean when you're grinding going into 2nd and it's hard to get the gear into 1st and/or 2nd gear? Is that the clutch or the trans? I'm guessing it would be the clutch but I just want to be sure. Also, when the clutch pedal isn't depressed and I'm deccelerating in 1st gear, sometimes the gear will pop out and go to neutral.

 

Sounds like the transmission.

 

Any other symptoms for a bad trans or did I pretty much nail all of them?

 

Try a fluid change, see if it gets any better. Can't hurt. Could be one or both?
