Decent place/price for ATF-Z1 Tranny Fluid?

Ok, I called the Acura dealership I got my car from and they said $5.58/qt. Then, after seeing that people said Honda places had it cheaper, I started calling Honda dealerships. I live in Houston and there are a ton of dealers around. I think they are all in it together!! I can't find a single place to quote me anything other than exactly $5.58/qt. Is there a better place to get this stuff online at a more reasonable price? Thanks all!

My local Honda dealership charges 30 cents less/qt than my Acura dealership. What's sad is that your quote of $5.58 is another 30 cents cheaper than what my Honda dealer charges lol. If you find a cheaper place, let me know. A group buy on tranny fluid would be great lol.

For real! I would be in on that! I asked a few of them if it was any cheaper if I bought it by the case and they said no. On the point of regular tranny fluid exchanges, I've been thinking it might be more cost effective not to waste the more expensive ATF-Z1 on it. The SMART BLEND BLACK Highly friction modified ATF supplement adds friction modifiers that converts a fluid that meets DexronŽ III specs to that of the Z1 fluid.
The way I see it, save the Z1 for the final fill. Fill and flush multiple times with a less expensive fluid (a la $2.xx or so per qt). On the final fill, put the Z1 in. It will be a HUGE majority of what is in there. For the very little amount of the other fluid that might be around, you add the Smart Blend to add the proper HFM. Thoughts? I already have some on the way myself.

Holy crap boys and girls! I was really starting to feel uncomfortable driving on just the Mobil1 synthetic even though it is going to be flushed soon. Instead of waiting for the above product to come in, I bought some LubeGard Black from a local NAPA store (its basically the same product). I didn't think it would make all that much difference but boy was I wrong! The car shifted marginally smoother with the new fluid but after adding the LubeGard, it was buttery smooth!
This product was specifically designed to add the proper modifiers to Dexron III products to bring them to specs such as the Z1. They also make an additive in a red bottle that can be added to the OEM stuff for better performance. If I am not pleased with the Z1 compared to what I have now, I will be adding the Red.

I've seen cases of it being sold on Ebay. Don't remember the price but I remember it was decent. Sometimes honda dealerships have special days where you can buy things at a discount. For me its something like friday between certain hours. Check the dealers homepage in you city and look under service. There might be something there.
