I'm going to have to quote my GF on this one.
I asked her the same thing and she said...
"It looks like you got in an accident and was too cheap to pay for new emblems."
I had a completely debadged trunk before...but now I changed my mind and put the ACURA letters back. I can't do anything about the emblem since I filled in the holes aready.

Any time you customize, or mildly in this case, it devalues the car. If you do it, save the emblems to put back later when you want to sell the car. It does look nice, but I elected to keep mine on.

I kept the "A" and the A C U R A, but ditched the Type-S. Feel like the back end looks more balanced with out it. I did keep it so I can stick it back on when I return the lease.
Great looking car - love the dish on those wheels!

Many of you guys think my GOLD emblems are ugly.
I think that debadging is UGLY and “cheapens” the look of the rear.
That is why we all customize our cars to what WE like best.

I left just the A symbol on my 01 silver CLS. I liked it and got several positive comments; no negatives. Still trying to decide whether to do it on the 03 red 6spd. For some reason, the letters seem to look better on the red and with the new tail lights

I didn't pay almost $30,000 to have my car look like a Neon.
It looks better with badging. I think the badges moved down would look better tho. The A and th ACURA seem to be positioned to be best viewed while standing by the car, but they look better from another car's view with the badges lower. Basically the rear end is not that stylish, so do whatever you can do to improve it, but leaving it bare brings out the Neon look.

I took off the "3.2 CL Type S" and left the A and Acura. I thinking about taking off the Acura though. I looks better with out the decal on the upper right trunk.

I think having the right corner badges on is just pretentious, I mean we have a nice car but there is nothing there worth a bragging badge (even the s version), and I see no need for a gaudy long name on my trunk. People know the "A" symbol and what it stands for, and most people know our model of car. I just kept the "A" in front and the "A" in back, much more balanced. But to each their own.

I think de-badging is silly. But as a few people have said...to each their own. It isn't a bragging that you have this car or that car to leave the 3.2CL-S on...I personally just think that it looks good to have something that breaks up that area. It makes waxing a bit trickier but who cares. It looks cheap to take the lettering off...like someone said, it looks like you smashed the car and didn't put them back on.

I think the clean look is very nice if done correctly!
I left the (A) on the back of my trunk, my car is black, and I think it looks hot! I've gotten a lot of compliments, and people always ask me, "Man, what kind of Acura is that?"
Man, they have no clue in Delaware

Ouch!, but that's the whole purpose of the forum. I like to hear why someone likes it a certain way, something I hadn't thought of maybe. Getting opinions and ideas.
I wanted to move the trunk emblems down, I think they are too high and make the trunk look even more high waisted and round. Bring the A down to near the big curve, and the ACURA down to the bottom half, would look better, esp at driving level. I know the A is bolted with screws/holes.
This started with the LEGEND spelled across the trunks. In later models they made the letters smaller, I think smaller letters would look better on the CLS.
PS- Most people do not know about cars and don't have a clue what the Acura symbol is. I think it looks cool turned upside down too. They barely know what an Acura is, and if I say CL. there's just a blank look. An Acura is not a Mercedes, let's have some names again.

I'd say leave the "A" only. Looks real clean. Also has a kinda sleeper effect.. I saw a silver CL on the 118 today. He had the "A" and the Type-s. I think it's cleaner with only the "A". Looks more balanced. Benefits either way, wait until you detail around that area. Makes for a helluva detail sesh!
