dealership tranny flush

How many miles did you have?
I heard it get dangerous to do it after a while and you never did it before
I have 75K and never changed it.
Think it be ok?
Was it worth it?
How much?

im knocking on 115k, original tranny. (tranny cooler at 55k-60k)
definitly, i was getting a hard shift between 2nd and 3rd when rpms where high, and now its smooth as silk, and ive got a broke motor mount.... I would definitly recommend it, i went to honda instead of acura, and they charged me $69.xx and that was with tax included. check your tranny fluid (yellow dipstick) and tell me what the color is, mine was somewhat brownish, and now its golden like honey. its just peace of mind, you know how unreliable our transmissions are, and the guy at the dealership said an "older fella" comes in with an 02 tl-s and does his tranflush every 10-12k. and hes got over 200k on it. i dont see how it could hurt..
you wanna do it eventually, because the viscosity of the fluid will eventually wear and get thinner thus not lubricating everything correctly.

you could do it yourself just REMEMBER TO USE HONDA ATF ONLY! and dont get it on your clothes cause the shit wont come out

Damn.. 2700 dollars just for the wheels!!! add another 1000+ for tires.

believe , i am tlking frm experience. If u transmission has already started to wear dwn considerably (i.e significant amount of metal shavings and grinds inside ) which is normal, it really does more harm than good to change the trans oil to a new one or flush in the long run.
u might see an improvement right away but it comes bck to bite u.

reason is the newer trans oil contain stronger detergents that tend to soak up & wash more of the metal debris and filings which later clogged the system as opposed to the old oil that was there.

i have lost two transmissions that way they lasted only 2 - 4 months afte the trans oil change. On two hondas NOT my cls.

I guess if u do it then drive it for maybe two weeks and do it again u might be safer since that will get more of the shaving out while stabilizing the detergents in the oil.

yeah man, i upgraded to the comptech one not too long ago, its been proven to extend the life of the trannies. I have my original one that honda put on if you'd like to get it from me, just send me a PM. I'll trade ya for your front lip hehe jk.

i dont see how it could hurt the transmission.
