Question Is dealer trying to jack me?

I need to bring in my 01 Type S in for 75k maintenance and Keyes Acura in Van Nuys So. Cal. is quoting me $300+. Also if my brakes need to be replaced it will cost me almost another $400. Sounds like a rip to me. Can anyone give me some info so I can use the money saved on some mods. I would really appreciate if someone could tell me where I can get a better price or if it sounds right.

You need to??? No, you don't need to. Just follow your owner's manual to do the required maintanence... And you dont need to go to the dealer for that, either do it yourself, or go to a reputable mechanic....
If you want to use Honda OEM fluids, you can get them from dealer's parts department and tell your mechanic to use it....

i had my car at the dealer one time and the service writer told me that my car is due for maintenance. i told him that those are nothing more than expensive oil changes. he just chuckled and said "yeah they are".

You should get "scheduled maintenace recommended by the dealer" if either applies:
1. You have no idea about cars in general, never opened a hood and etc. Cluless chick or something like that :-)
2. Money is not a concern, and you are too lazzy to think on how you can save money....
