Instructions here
and you can buy them pretty much anywhere; they're very cheap usually less then ~$12/bulb.

I just replaced the road lamps in my '01 CLS with Prolargs. It was very easy following the instructions that craigyg69 pointed you to. (Thanks, ChodTheWacko.) I am about as handy around cars as a baby turkey, but I had no trouble at all (once I got a long enough screwdriver, that is).
But, that exercise got me to wondering: What were the designers thinking with the stock road lamps? What are "road lamps" anyway? Stock, they are not fog lights - too weak. And they are not daylight running lights - they only come on with your headlights. So, what are they? Anybody know?

Thanks for your response. 'Preciate it.
I'm thinking that you're right about the road lamps being about looks. And, I think that they can be made to look good. It's just too bad that they don't come from the factory already looking good.
I'd like to see them separately switched, too.

Hey craigyg69,
About the PIAA bulb, why the 19169 and not the 16168? Does the 19169 match the stock headlamps better?
Thanks,
Chris
