CT Mufflers?

OK, having an impulse moment. I was at the dealer this AM and they do CT mods. They have CT mufflers for my car sitting there - all nice, clean and new. I know they add ZERO power, but how do they sound? Is it worth 600-? Oh, the dealer is going to install my CT headers Friday or Monday depending on when they arrive. Reasonable price too. I know I should skip the mufflers - even the parts guy said they are a waste. Any thoughts?

Well they are the best looking out there IMO. They don't have the bumble bee sound but they burble when you get on it. The looks alone over the stock exhaust may be worth it.

If my exhaust ever comes I'm testing it out. I'm not a fan of noise, but Since I have the other mods I'm hopefull on my car I will get some gains, & see how loud the noise is in everyday driving.

I have CT exhaust. Eventhough I don't feel any power gains, but I really enjoy the look of it. The sound is just slightly louder than stock. I bought the quiet tips also, but have not needed to use it yet because the sound has not annoyed me yet.

A lot of my friends thought it was the stock exhaust too... since it's still quieter than the G35C's exhaust.

Do they replace any of the pipes with the mufflers? I am thinking about having them put them on, but 600 is a bit steep. I really want to get the headers done first to see what that is all about.

Nope.. just axle back.. direct bolt-on.

I have the Comptech's also and I love them. They really complete the car as far as looks and sound.

The question of if it's worth it is subjective. I thought they were... but you may not. That answer will vary from person to person, and you need to decide if they're worth it to you.

I agre, The looks is great and the sound is just A LITTLE LOUDER!!! The only thing that bothers me is the fact that if you are in D5 (automatic) it will give you that resonance noise, nothing bad, just gets a little annoying, but throw it to sportshift and your problems are solved!!
Enjoy them, they look great, and it feels great after each car wash you can look at that shine from those tips!!

One good reason for getting it for me was....

G35C!! I saw, I heard... and I knew what I had to do for my CLS.

Question on install. Do you need new gaskets like with the headers? Do the muffles even have them? I don't see them on the install sheet from Comptech.

Nope, no gaskets... they just bolt right on. Shouldn't take more then 1/2 hour.. and most of that time will be spent trying to loosen the factory bolts
