Coupon for PAA Service

Guys, I have a $1000 service at PAA and I'm wondering if anyone has a coupon I could use. I remember getting service coupons from dealers after taking my car in for other reasons and this is my first time at PAA.

Anyone?

Thanks

I just bought new rotors for the front and pads all around for 437 shipped, I'm glad I didn't go to the dealer for this. I also have 80k miles, except I have an 03.

elliot,

Here's my setup and I paid

Rotora slotted front and rear rotors - $300
Goodridge SS brake lines - $150
Satisfied Pro Ceramic pads - $100

Install - $300

PM me and I'll give you the name of the guy I use. He's in Cranford and he did a great job.

$1000 for crappy Acura rotors and pads is no deal.

NSXNEXT,

Perhaps I'll PM you and get this guy's name for next time. Truth is I am a bit naive when it comes to cars (I hate admitting this here) and I have a loaner car which I need to get to/from work for a day or two, and I'm leaving town for a short vacation this weekend, and so after discussing with my Dad, I decided to just get it done.

My Dad could not believe it when I told him $1100, but as we both finally concluded, brakes are important. Whether they're $200, $1100, or $5000, they needed to be replaced and whatever the cost, my safety/life is more important than a "measley" $1100.

Yeah, so someone at PAA will make a pretty penny on me (labor itself is $95/hr) but I'm more important than that. I'm the first to ask for a coupon (obviously) or try to find a better way out, but I trust these mechanics after reading this board for almost three years and if that's the cost to make me feel better, then so be it.

I have plenty of money in the bank $1000 isn't going to kill me. But not having brakes may.

--

You guys rock. Thanks for the suggestions.

Elliot

$1000 is not a lot of money but wasting it on shitty OEM brake components is. If you can sit tight for a little bit you can get a sweet brake setup that will make your car's stopping power tremendous.

Check your PM.

what a rip off, I had my front rotors and pads replaced for $230 including labor.
I hope you are not getting stock rotors and pads, they are horrible and warp quickly.

If 1000 buks is a chunk change for you, than its OK. Otherwise, you could have ordered some good after-market rotors and pads (which by the way give you better stoping power than OEM, and thus more "safe" if you care aboute safety), and you could have it installed at local brake shop for much less $$$... you dont need to be a very smart mechanic to install pads and rotors.
but again, the choice is yours, you paid a lot of money, they made you feel special, so you have a right to be happy

$1000 is not chump change, but I have it. And I'm not sure if they make me feel special, but I guess I'll feel safe when driving this weekend with my fiancee and next weekend for a friends wedding back in Baltimore.

Next time I'll know -- thanks.

You should just throw in another $1000 and get a brembo or rotora big brake kit, that will make you feel very safe.

Why don't you consider buying aftermarket brake pads and rotors and then taking them to PAA to install them.

Because the car was already there and I need it because I'm leaving to go away this weekend, and I don't have another car. Live and learn, ya know?

Definitely one of those live and learn experiences.

Remember though... next time you're in the neighborhood for new brakes... it's aftermarket time.

$1100 for brakes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That money tree in the back yard must be nice to have. I'm shocked a place like PAA would rip off a customer like that. Damn dude. I'm sure you could have waited a few more days, still drive safe & had time to research it. God that's hard to hear!

:-) If there was a money tree, I wouldn't consider every purchase I make in terms of guests at my wedding, instead of dollars. Nor would I be asking for a coupon :-)
