Couple questions for Tein coilover owners!
Couple questions for Tein coilover owners!
1 - Someone mentioned in the groupbuy thread that they need the upper mounts from the stock struts or something... is this true? Is there some part I will need to buy? I'm already running Nex SS coilovers and I sold my Comptech springs together with the stock struts still attached, so am I missing a part from doing that, or if my Nex are installed the Teins will install the same way?
2 - What is a good number of clicks to start off with for a medium-stiffness (so I don't bottom them out) but not overly stiff ride? What click setting are you running? How much stiffer do you have the front than the back?
Thanks.

I have no idea if I have the part so that's why I asked. I would assume if my coilovers are in, the Teins should be fine too. Unless they come without some part my Nex came with?
oh hold up....the NEX comes with the upper mount. The TEINS do NOT!
If you swap out the NEX coilover system you still have to buy the stock upper strut/spring mount from Acura!!! Dude...if this isn't making any sense please let me know because I don't want you buying the TEINs and not being able to put them on!!!

When going from stock suspension to Tein, you reuse these parts: 6,7,18,8,7,11,9 for the front.
Front shock assy
1,8,9,3,8,10,2 for the rear.
Rear shock assy
I have my Tein set to 6 clicks in the front and 9 in the rear. I think I may go a little stiffer, although what I'd really like are stiffer springs. Height is set at 7 spins front and 11 spins rear.

to adjust the struts you have to take out the rear seats to reach the little adjustment knob on top of the strut. It basically sits about 3 inches away from your speakers. I'm going to figure out a way to cut holes so I can reach them easier...
Okay so I need to order:
front: 6,7,8,9,11,18,20
rear:1,2,3,8,9,10,18
Correct?
And I'll need double the amount shown since I'll need two rear ones and two front ones. Damn this is gonna be at least another $100.
Also, when talking # of clicks and spins, you are talking from the tightest and the highest settings, yes?

opps...I guess you should already have that nut if you have your NEX's in...nevermind about that.
clicks is from the stiffest setting 0 = stiffest 16 = loose
spins is from the lowest setting 0 = slammmmmed!!!! 1+ = 4X4

Thus order 006x2, 007x4, etc etc. So the same for the rear. Ya, it's gonna cost you around $100, but you'll have brand new parts! Just like what the manual says to do!
