Nice....get the 03 headlights like you said and remove your fogs...then paint the grille surrounding black and get some nice black mesh grille inserts from rondog (I forgot where he got his) and you will prolly have the hottest silver CL-S here!!

Ohh....get ur rims dipped in black pearl also!!

Not feeling the hood. CL IMO isn't sporty looking enough to have one. I know you run so it'll work for you. I think you need to "de-shine" your rims since you're de-chroming the exterior.

I thought stock hood weigh 35 +/- and my carbon fiber hood weigh 23 lbs. Who is the maker of your carbon fiber hood?

it fits pretty good. the gaps are correct but the hood sits just a tad higher than the fender on the sides. and the grill doesn't fit quite as flush as on the stock hood. but it's as good as it gets for CF.

sg, you're probably correct about the stock hood being 35#, i was just guessing. this is a VIS hood, and i have heard from others it weighs 11.5#. it feels that light, way lighter than the stocker.

i think these hoods are ~ $400. i bought it out of the black market for $150 and it's practically new.

if i don't like the way that it looks after the headlights etc, i'll either paint it or sell it. i figured for $150 i couldn't go wrong.

I never liked them in the past but as with many things, opinions change. That looks great Matt!!! Now I have actually come to like them and if I keep messing with this car, which seems inevitible now, I might get one.

IMO, I think it would look decent on a Aegean Blue CL-S with the below wheels mounted:

Have you adjusted the rubber bumpers on the frame? That might help make it sit lower.

but if you seriously care about weight... you should remove that ugly fucking wing from your trunk as it is nothing but dead weight.

I agree on the wing and Matt I'm going to get the CF hood as well but I was told the hood weighs upwards of 70 lbs.
I would like to see some hard facts on the actual weight of the hood as 35 lbs doesn't seem right.

they are turned all the way down. it fits flush at the front, it just bulges up a couple mm in the middle.

adam, if not for the holes i would have at least tried that years ago. the wing only weighs a few # though.

sonor, the hood is definatly not 70#. i would say ~ 40# is right.

i'm planning on getting '03 headlights and an anthracite grill surround. i might also consider painting the hood silver, possibly leaving a small part of it raw so you can still see the CF.

Not sure I like the carbon fiber on silver... anthracite however would be hot! Does it help much with the top heavy cornering of the CL?

Hit the track and let us know how it goes.

I think your VIS hood is over 20lbs. I remember my CF hood weigh about 10lbs less than the oem hood. VIS make strong thick hood but they are heavy! I love that carbon fiber hood, so how much it weigh didn't matter much. Wow you got a good deal on that hood. I paid $380 delivered 1 year ago and that was wholesale. I wouldn't even sell it for $150 now.
