The countdown begins!

I can't wait any longer. I am about to Zaino and take my new CL-S out of winter hybrination this weekend after a lonnng 3.5 months of winter. Even though the streets are still full of sand and potholes, I can't stand to wait any longer!

I know the break-in guidelines, no WOT from a stand still, no steady speeds for more than an hour, no hard stops. Most of my driving will be on the highway (roughly 30 minutes each way), and backroad / stop and go (roughly 10 minutes)

What is the max speed I should be averaging for the first 1000 miles or so?

I think there's a good writeup in the owners manual

I kept it under the speed limit, but it's probably better to watch the rpms. I never went above 4500rpms for the first 600 miles, and then I still took it easy on the car until 1000 miles (no wot, just some "spirited" short runs).

edit
BTW: I read in another thread that you got your CLS from Inskip too.

I guess that I won't be having Inskip install any computech mods

Have you tried Claire Acura ?? (that's where inskip located my cls).

Also, when I was looking at CL's I went to Newport Acura, and the sales guy said that they might be moving to Seekonk MA soon. I've read good things about Newport Acura on the clubrsx.com dealer forum, but Inskip is only 15mins away from where I work (which is why I bought it at Inskip).

Seekonk! That would be ideal! I work in East Providence and Seekonk is right up the road. I'll guess I'll call around at other dealers to see what kind of numbers they pass me.:P

That's just a rumor... So don't count on it, but yeah, it would be nice.

I've got a buddy (actually a friend of a friend) that works at herb chambers honda in EP that I have to ask about installing mods. He had mentioned that they (the dealership), had done some mods on a S2000, so I have to ask him if they do Acura mods too (and get a feel for what the labor prices are).

Heck, if you're in the EP area, you might want to give Herb Chambers Honda a call too.

If you see a Red CLS in the area w/ acura-cl.com stickers on the rear windows, that'll be me

Seeing there are very few CL's in my travels, I'll be sure to pick you out if I see you. Red will stand out seeing I've never seen one in person. Only black and silver so far.
