noticed almost after the beginning of ownership that the center caps are starting to corrode or bubble from the outside of the cap inwards toward the logo.

was wondering if anyone else had the same problem and how the dealership dealt with it. is it still covered under warranty?

from a previous thread, SilverCL-S and Shawn S had the same problem, so what happened?

 

Paint defect. My 03 center caps are plastic, so it cannot be corrosion. By the way, those plastic caps are ~$30 EACH! with tax.

 

so would it be covered under warranty with no problems?

My center caps had like saran wrap over them under the Acura logo and I had the same problem. I just took out the center caps, removed the logo and removed the plastic wrap crap and it solved the problem.

 

i have the same problem with my 01 clp. i took it to my dealership and they said that it would be covered under warranty. it depends on how much mileage you have on you car.

 

i'm going in on friday for an appt and i've told them about it already, and they're ordering new ones. i have about 26k on the car.

acuraman32cl at what km's did you get yours replaced?

hopefully i have no problems with the dealer!

up to a certain mileage/date, just like any other part of your car. not sure on how long though.

 

just got all 4 replaced! the service advisor was really nice about everything, she said they'll replace it as long as it's under warranty. fine with me!
