How many of us have been nailed in the last few days by cops? I decided to go a different way home than usual and got a ticket for 40 in a 30!! What BS--that's not even really speeding.

Anyways, I think I've read about 5 other posts of tickets. If you've received a ticket in the last few days post the details below--i.e 75 in a 50 etc.

What we really need a group buy on is radar detectors. i would never have been nailed by this guy if I had one.

Dunno if a radar detector would help...I think of them just as a nuisance sometimes. They get in the way of your field of view and the chirps/beeps/etc. get really annoying. I took mine off the mount last Saturday during Winter Formal and haven't put it back up yet...oh well eventually I'll come to my senses and put the darn thing back up.

There is always one time of the month for a week that cops write ALOT of tickets. They deny the quota system, but one cop that was against ticketing somewhere (he gave warnings) was in trouble with his department! Usually, the end of the month is the time to avoid speeding in "hotspots". You know where the speed traps in your area are....slow down, get past and stomp the throttle...

i havent been pulled lately but i have noticed a lot of cops clocking speed and giving tickets left and right. I have driven down the interstate atleast twice a day for months and have only seen one guy pulled over and in the last week i have seen about 7. This sucks

 

That sucks I guess I better cool it huh. Anyone notice that once we are going you can't shift down into first even if you use the shift gate? I was doing about 30 and I tried to it was in the first place and the light on the dash said first so I punched if figuring that it would top out at 45 ish needless to say since it didn't go into first but stayed in second I hit 60 in a matter of seconds. 60 in a 30 damn. good thing there were no cops around. . I also have a little strech of my drive (it's near downtown too) that no matter what time it is (I'm there at rush hour) you usally have a hell of a lot of room between you in the next car and there is a divider in the middle but not too many cars on the other side (including no cops) 1 or 2 times a week I get that area clear of all cars and have a nice cruise at 110 to 120 for 5 to 10 seconds before I have to turn.(I have no idea what a turn would feel like at 120 nor do I indend to find out) on any other day I hit 80 to 90 there (even at rush hour). Guess I better cool down.

 

Yeah I just put mine back on yesterday on the way to work...I felt so much more secure again. But another reason I took it off though, was because of the fact that it's been raining the last few days so I've had no reason to speed....

I have had to issue a couple of tickets this week. They are mostly people doing 50 mph or more in a 30 mph zone. I personally have never even considered issuing for only 10 mph over. The thing is now that we use laser I fined quite a few of the driver I stopped have radar detectors, which doesn’t seem to help them. I have also discovered that women tend to drive a hell of a lot faster then guys. About 60% to 70% that I have ticketed are woman.
