Question Coolant flush vs. drain/re-fill - Dealer says don't do flush?

I just spoke to my local Acura dealer and for coolant, they simply do a drain/re-fill and told me that Acura does not recommend performing a coolant flush.

Is that true? I plan on doing a flush (a couple drain/re-fill cycles of distilled water) and then refill with Acura Type 2 coolant.

I assume others on the board have done a complete flush and everything is fine but is it necessary/unnecessary?

Honestly I never did a flush on any car. Always & drain & refill, warm engine get air out & top off.

Don't flush anything on these cars. Always Drain/Fill.

Some dealerships flush though.

Well I am reading mixed opinions on this forum - PLENTY of people have done it, seemingly without issues.

I've bought all of the distilled water. I understand NOT to perform a flush for the auto transmission.

Anyone perform a coolant flush and see any adverse affects?

flush auto is a no no.... best way is to open the external cooler lines and let it suck in new fluid from a 5 gal bucket as it expels the oil fluid into another one. Stop when fluid coming out is clean.

3x drain and fill is the preferred method.

for the engine open rad cap and plug at bottom of rad, drain. next pop out one of the freeze plugs let the fluid out and pop in the plug..

Refil and bleed air out of system.

I'm sure it's fine to flush the cooling system. I've only done the drain and refill because I never had the need to flush and I'm too lazy lol

Drain and fill. I usually don't pull the engine plug either. Sometimes I do but usually not.

I spend the money and buy Honda coolant. Usually do it around 3/4 of the recommended service interval and/or when doing timing belt job.
