Check this out guys...someone did a side by side test using Meguiars and Zaino.

This is an old site.

I think the advantages of Zaino go beyond the wet shine & reflectivity. This stuff lasts and lasts. I'd do a quick wash after a winter snow (sand, salt...) storm and the car would sparkle. No 'wax' product could survive the elements like Zaino did last winter.

Zaino is very easy to apply, and works better with each application (the effect is additive). I like it better the all the wax I've put on cars before.

It's slightly expensive, but you end up using very little. In the long run, I don't think it's any more expensive then any other quality product.

Yeah, I saw this over a year ago. Wonder what the long term test would result in? Guy never followed up.

Meguiars is great for the average user, and priced nicely. Zainos is for the enthusiast, based on expense. By trhe way i use most of the Zaino line, and love it. I do use Meguiars, quick detail, and scratch remover. Both great products

yeah, I believe that the elements in which you live in can be a big deciding factor in what product you use. For area such as mine...the weather is nice and when its not, I can keep the baby garaged. Thus, Meguiars is for me.
No need to pay more money to get the same shine, imo but, like I said, i you live in a harsh enviroment, snow, hail and such..sure you would want a product that might be stronger to hold up to those elements.
I dont believe that "Meguiars is for the average user and that Zaino is for the ethusiast based on expense" because if you dont need to "stronger," whats the point. That would be the same if someone bought a radar detector for more protection when he doesnt speed in the first place.
Of course I am defintely not knocking Zaino, I've seen it in person. A buddy of mine at work has a Porshe and keeps it Zaino'd. The shine with both our cars are pretty well the same.
I would also say that when I need to wash my car, its very simple, the dirt and grim comes right off. It would sometimes seem that I dont even need to add soap, just water and dry. But we all know that cant happen.

All in all...both products are good....to each own

I read that test, and began using meguirs not too long ago! LOVE the SHINE! its really brings out the black on my accord! I think the shine is identical, although admittedly, I have not used zaino(cost!). But I based on what people say, zaino out lasts meguires! I'm happy with meguirs though!

Zaino is better from the perspective of shininess and MUCH better for longevity. If I'm going to bust my ass waxing/polishing the car I want it to last more than a couple weeks (which Meguiars does.) The only disadvantage to Zaino is it quickly attracts a fine layer of dust. On dark cars this is very noticeable and quite annoying.

I use meguirs quick detail spray after I was my car, and it prolongs the meguirs shine for weeks!

There was an old site called thewaxtest.com who were planning on doing a very long term test of 4 different waxes.

Unfortunately after 2-3 weeks, they got bought out and their tests never saw the light of day.

I just switched to Zaino 2 weeks ago. I used Meguiars for like 2 years and loved it. After I heard all the talk on Zaino I had to try it. Let me say, I love it. It beats Meguiars is both shine and longevity. I just used it again the other day and the stuff just keeps getting better. If I use it every couple of weeks it just keeps adding layers of the stuff on the car because it doesn't go away after a couple washes like Meguiars. Its worth the extra $$

Z-6,...did you use the Z-6? That keeps the dust off.

I did kind of the same test.

I was using megiures for over 2 years and had some left so I waxed my ex girls taffetta white civic with it and used zanio on my taffeta white CL . I have pics at home so I"ll post them sometime but the results are just amazing.

Zanio: much eaiser to apply, much easier to remove, better shine.

The only thing I use meguires is to wax my rims

Putting a coat of wax is your rims makes it so much easier to spray off any excess dirt when washing.
