Please don't drive in Europe then. The car shares nothing with the Corolla. It may be similar in size.

But you may not get the
3 series
C-class
A4
Volvo S40
Civic
Focus

And every small car known to man. The IS was built to mimic the 3 in dimensions. There is a reason for this. Less mass=sportier.

My option was either an is300 or a cl type s used. But the lexus dealers I went to didnt have any used in stock so I went with the cls and Im very happy with it. You can make the is300 look real sweet and fast but Im happy with the front wheel drive since I am obligated to use my cls everyday to go to work. The IS might be a problem in the snow.

You know what, I have owned a 96 Accord LX, then a 98 Accord EX and now an 01 Acura CLS and to be honest, I am not impressed with the quality nor am I impressed with the Company/dealership. Brakes warping, time bomb of a tranny and rattles (I took mine in and they took a look at my subwoofer and looked no further).

From what I see about Toyota/Lexus, I would rate their quality higher. My sister in law has a RX300 (the SUV) and we were treated like Gold when we took in for a check engine light coming on. Class dealership.

Just my 2 cents.

My next car will most likely be a GS 300

Lexus - better service, better reliability, higher prices, softer ride

To be honest I'd get a G35 if I wanted a RWD sports sedan/coupe and was looking for Japanese reliability.

JRock if you have any questions about the IS3 before you buy, post them up and I'll try to answer (I have an 03).

I just went and helped my mother purchase one of these, and I must say it's an awesome ride. I drove it home for her and it's incredible. Realllll smooth, u dont realize the traveling speed by the feel at all. Super smooth, super sporty, awesome feel inside the car, pretty torquey (sp?) I6. And this is just the automatic. I'm sure the 5 speed with lsd is an even better ride. All in all, if I wouldnt have to say I owned the same car as my mother, I'd be looking for one.

hmmmm to me the is300 and evo8/sti are totally different cars. You will be speding major $$$ to have the IS300 compete perfoarmancewise with the AWD turbo cars. Not to mention you will be losing warranty to do so. I've also learned that transforming a luxury car into a car that can compete with cars like the Sti and Evo is basically going to give you car that looks like a luxury car, but feels/sounds nothing like one. Whereas with the Sti?Evo, what you see is what you get. Persoanlly I would get the Evo or Sti. They are fun righ out of the box and can be made 12 sec cars cheaply, and 11 sec easily....while at the same time having real road course prowess. If I wanted something with some more luxury, I think I would pony up for an S60R or V70R. 350 hp with a chip, ability to change how the suspension feels and reacts with the touch of a button and a lot of luxury and practicality. I like the is300, but it's not me.
