confused about which viscosity to use

confused about which viscosity to use
I've searched and still can't figure it out. My manual says to use 5W-30 while my oil cap says to use 5W-20. When I take it to the dealer they use 5W-30 (probably cause its cheaper) and when I take it to the local lube shop, they use 5W-20.
Anyone have some insite on this?
